I booked 2 rooms, arrived at the hotel to be told that they didn't have a booking for us. An hour later after many stares from the staff & whispers we were told that only one room was ready we would have to wait for the other, or would I like to ring them. I requested them to phone me but they never did. I called to check & got a most unhelpful member off staff who told me that all rooms are ready by 2pm when I told him that was the case & asked that he check my booking I was told he didn't need to as all rooms are always ready on time. Arrived back at the hotel & checked in was told they didn't have the bond when it had previously been taken when checking in on the first room, this took another 10 minutes. We got the key to the room & found the bedroom full of flies & mozzies, we made a request to housekeeping but after returning later that night still nothing had been done, so lots of bug spray & hitting them they were gone. The bathroom had 3 light fittings but only 1 light worked, the other 2 had no bulbs & were cracked. The shower curtain was as tacky as they come with only 3 rings holding it up. The room was made up everyday but you don't expect them to be making your bed at 6pm on a saturday night. The 2nd room we also had for other members of our family had to have their key card changed everyday which is not helpful when you get to the level to find you can't get in. The tv in the room was pokey & small & made a fizzing sound when turned off, hence it didn't go on after that. They should sell this as a "Jail Theme" hotel all that was missing was what you see in films where the guards go up & down banging their batons against the railings!! the layout was horrendous, noisy & not very pleasant to walk through. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone let alone book there again.

Lots of excellent features eg. good location for Darling Harbour & Pyrmont facilities & ready access to CBD via mono rail. Room airy & well designed, bed comfortable, soundproofing good. Excellent lap pool of 25 metres - remarkable for a hotel. Downside was surly & unresponsive staff (need training in eye contact for starters!) & poor access to parking. We had to park late Sat evening & cldn't use the hotel-recommended Harbourside carpark as it was full. The alternative carpark cost a mint & was not refundable by the hotel. FInding the hotel is a nightmare for non- Sydney-siders due to the complex web of local one-way streets (& for inexperienced taxi drivers). I wldn't use it again with a car.

I found our room needed a big makeover. Very tired and old. Lamp was broken and the TV was the real old style with set top box. When I tried to ring reception I was on hold for 15 minutes with the phone just ringing so I hung up. The location is good, but the rooms are very ordinary.

On first entering via level 4 (carpark level) we thought we'd entered some kind of prison encapment with all the caged courtyards- very unattractive! however the room was nice enough, view from floor 10 just a big wall, but close enough walk to Darling Harbour without the cost of the DH hotels like the novatel. Would probably shop around a bit more next time first, though if want a room just for the night is just fine.

This has been by far the worst hotel I have ever EVER stayed at. They have advertised pictures on their website which only depict views of the penthouse rooms. My partner and I booked a One Bedroom Harbour View room expecting to have a view of the harbour from our room, and also expecting the room to be spacious and immaculate like the picture on the website showed us. When we arrived to the room, we found stains on the tables, rips and tears on the lounge, the walls were brick, curtains out of date, the window from the bedroom over looked the foyer. Not to mention the lounge room window which was very very high and showed us a lovely view of skip bins and rubbish. I complained to staff and was told that the pictures on the website were only pictures of the penthouse, and the room I was in was what the room is really like. I argued and became very angry and was upgraded to a better room which looked more like the pictures on the website. The bed was VERY uncomfortable and rock hard. The bathroom was plain and boring and dirty. I have never stayed at a hotel where there is no TV in the bedroom. When leaving the hotel, the elevators weren't working so we had to use the fire evacuation stairs which we got locked into and had to call concierge to come and get us out. Overall, I WILL NEVER STAY AT THIS HOTEL EVER AGAIN. EVER. I could have paid the same price and went to a much nicer and cleaner hotel in Sydney.
