The first hint from this non-responsive hotel came after we tried to contact them several times prior to our paid trip, to no avail. Our "oceanfront room," for which we paid a premium, had zero view. Worse, the rooms here have no walls between the bathroom & bedroom, creating a problem for anyone who likes privacy. I had food poisoning after my first dinner there, and spent the night with the the lights blazing in the bathroom, which, coupled with the sounds of food poisoning, is very disturbing to anyone trying to sleep. My complaints the next day got us moved to a nicer room, but with no wall separating the bathroom.(Look for a photo I am going to upload of this bizarre set-up.) It took three hours for them to fix the room safe, and another hour for them to fix the lamps that weren't working. It rained for an entire day, and part of our ceiling fell down. There are several restaurants, none of which take reservations. As a result, there are 45-minute lines outside each one, with the exception of the largest, a buffet. If you're like me, waiting in line to eat isn't what vacations are all about, so we ate in the buffet restaurant for each meal. The food was varied and extensive, though after my bout with food poisoning, I stuck with very simple fare for the remainder of our 4-day trip. The grounds here are lovely, and the beach is beautiful.

We traveled from Dec 16-20, for 4 nights, but i wouldn't want to stay any longer there. I had such a great expectations of this hotel, on the pictures it looks so nice, plus we got a preffered club ocean view room, all inclusive. How bad can it be right? The hotel not as new as i thought, the room was average nothing special. The pools are not heated at all they are freezing all 3 of them. The ocean was very dirty alot of seaweed and garbage in the ocean like cups, plastic bags its disgusting. The water in the ocean was cold too...drinks were ok, most of them tasted the same eventhought they had different names but thats not important. About the food, its the same food everyday, they don't offer different variety of foods like if you expect seafood, lobsters they don't have that. They only serve rice and sausages and pizza. In salat leaves i found a live cockroach. Restaurants they had 3 or 4 were just ok...can't say much. Entertainment is nothing special at all, the casino only opens at 6pm and literally they have like 5 slot machines that play for a dollar and never win. So I am speechless of this place. I've been to DR before like Majestic Elegance was nice, Grand Bahia was also nice, but after staying in this place i don't think I ever want to return to punta cana. But If you want to Risk it go ahead and enjoy.

Check in was easy. Rooms were very nice. I did not have much of a view, but it did matter too much since I was hardly ever in my romm except to sleep. Staff was very accommodating, especially at an all-inclusive resort. Food was very good. Try the Lobster.

We just returned from Now Larimar Punta Cana and the staff was wonderful, the hotel was beautiful and the food was very good. We selected a ocean view room and it was very nice. However there were a few items missing from our room which are in every hotel room including a two star. There was no clock in the room. We called and were told they would get one for us if they could. We finally after our third day went to the desk and was told only preferred guest had clocks. We joked about not having a pen, paper or ironing board either and asked if you had to be preferred guest to get them too. We did finally get our clock after we said we needed it to time our medication but did not get any other items. The room was clean but we only had two shabby bath towels, one hand towel and had to always ask the maid (even after we tipped her) for extras when we saw the cart. We really had a great time and enjoyed the resort and I understand that preferred guest have extra features but this is advertised as a 4 star and in some areas it is not unless you get the preferred plan at this resort.

My boyfriend and I visited the Now Larimar Resort in Punta Cana to celebrate our birthdays. We arrived in Punta Cana on 10/2 and returned back to the US on 10/7. The worst part of our trip was probably the arrival at the airport. The Dominican Republic charges most travelers $10/head to enter their country, which we didnt know until we were on the plane. This probably wouldn't have changed our choice of destination, but it was slightly annoying. You pay $10 for a "traveler's card", and 10 feet after you pay $10 and and get your card, another person takes it back away from you and lets you proceed through to immigration. We waited in line for approximately 2 hours to get this card because there were several planes that de-boarded around the same time. It's slighty disorganized in that planes that landed after ours were afforded the option of enterting into a newly opened line, and they made it through this mess of a line before we did. Part of the wait is outside in the blazing hot sun. They also have a VIP line and pick and choose people based on no certain criteria, from as far as we could see, to move ahead of everyone else and get through this process faster. After making it through this process, we picked up our luggage, quickly got through customs, and then proceeded to be harassed by several taxi drivers screaming prices at us and trying to pull at our luggage to get us to choose them. Our determination is that you should probably book your shuttle in advance through whatever organization you use to book your trip. If you don't, there is a sign that sits on the floor in the transportation area that will tell you what the cost should be to your hotel. Double check this sign if you are concerned that you are about to be ripped off by a taxi driver. After this horrendous trip into DR, we got to our hotel and had no issues checking in. We were put in room number 2156. If you are a non-smoker and you happen to be given this room number, I wouldnt even walk away from the desk until they change it. This room smelled of really heavy cigarette smoke, and this is supposed to be a resort where all rooms are non-smoking. They offered to come spray air freshener which clearly was not going to make a difference. We had such a crazy trip that we didnt feel like dragging our bags back to the front desk, so we dealt with it for one night. My boyfriend awoke in the middle of the night in a coughing fit because the smell was so bad. First thing in the morning, we went back to the front desk and spoke with Carlos. He appeared to be a manager. He had on a different color shirt than everyone else. He was willing to change our room for us, but we had to wait until 5pm. The room number he gave us for the new room was 2126. There is construction going on on the entire "Building 2" side of this resort. If you are a midday napper, you dont want anything to do with this side of the resort as most of the construction is done during the day. Understanding that this new room was right outside of the construction area, I asked if we could pay to upgrade and move to the opposite side of the resort, the "Building 1" side. I paid $60 ($15/night for the remaining 4 nights), and we were given a 3rd floor room in Building 1 that had a slight ocean view. This room was amazing. I can honestly say it made the biggest difference in our trip. It was room number 1340. No smoke smell, it was open to the sunlight, you could look down on the pools, your view when you woke up was pools and palm trees (small glimpses of the ocean between trees, but doesnt really live up to "ocean view" description). The only two issues we had with our room after we upgraded were 1- the toilet became clogged and it took 4 hours and 2 calls to the front desk to get maintenance to come fix it. We finally gave up waiting and went to dinner. The toilet was fixed by the time we got back from dinner. 2- We had no water in the entire hotel one day for nearly 4 hours. This repeated itself f
