Novotel Rockford Darling Harbour

Staff here were very helpful which is always a good start. Room facilities included a bath and good pillows - always high on my list. The hotel is a stone's throw from Chinatown and all its restaurants, so there's no shortage of choices for food. I was surprised to learn that breakfast was included in my room price and the buffet was extensive and good fresh food. I loved the yoga channel on tv and provision of mats for this. the only negative was that with a king size bed in the room, I did not have enough space to do some of the ypga moves properly. Would have no hesitation in staying here again, or recommending to a friend.

The Rockford Darling Harbour appears to have been rated on the basis of brand name and little else. A dated interior, and the rooms a complete let down - I have found backwater motels better kept. It is not just that the walls are dirty in places and need a clean/new paint, the fittings and curtains are old, while the blinds tattered and disgusting. The bathrooms were the worst feature...mould and grout were all over the place, cramped was cramped with a bath-shower that looked disgusting, and had an ageing shower curtain that leaked water everywhere and soaked the floor! The bath was peeling in places as well. Add to this, that housekeeping had not made our bed (despite a 11pm checkin) - and we had to ring reception at midnight to get pillowcases!! The pillows were so disgusting and old that we sent back down to reception. The bed was actually very comfortable, however for this price range, there's absolutely no point in booking a room for this kind of service!

Sorry to say was not a good start from them mucking up our booking . To. Then putting us in a less superior room , to then being moved a third time , staff not overly helpful or friendly , bathrooms need updating , and rooms needed repairing or washing to freshen up very tired looking

Enjoyable stay, room was clean, comfortable, spacious and the hotel is in a very handy location. Reception staff welcoming and helpful. Looking forward to my next stay there. Would have loved to stay there for a week instead of a night.

The hotel has a great location. Down side have to park away from hotel in a public car park. Our room was small, and overlooked the freeway. We heard cars all night. Not the cleanest of rooms, didnt look vacuumed, dirty spoons and cracked coffee mug. I just feel Novotel arent living up to their name. Great breakfast, probably the highlight.

Stayed here a few times and for location & price, plus the comfortable fittings & furnishings in this hotel makes it very good value indeed. So close to Paddys Markets & China Town. So many choices of food.... Cab from Airport ~$35 (Saturday Lunchtime) Cab to Circular Quay ~$15 (Sunday Mid Morning) Paddys Market & Shopping Center ~5 min walk Will be staying here again unless the prices significantly increase...

Will stay here again if rates are reasonable. Within walking distance to Darling Harbour, China town and the city. Staff were helpful and rooms were quiet.

My neice and I booked this hotel for Christmas week. Although close to Darling Harbour and therefore good location the hotel itself very mediocre..we changed rooms 3 times the first day ..due to mold smell on one floor, broken toilet in one room and broken fridege . the pool was a lap one that was generally full (and seemingly went days without cleaning); the two internet terminals were constantly busy with young kids whose parents were no where in sight;; a 25 dollar breakfast not worth it (fabulous food down the street for 1/2 the price) ..and more importantly when a very distressful situation happened between two guests the management said 'that's between you ' and didn't take any responsibility for one guest being assaulted. ..not acceptable! I would NOT recommend this hotel.

Apart from being in a good location and having the standard amenities my boyfriend and I were extremely disappointed. The room was very small and we did not have anywhere to put our suitcases except the floor (yes we did have to jump over our luggage to get from one side of the room to the other). The room was dirty. The walls had shoe prints on them. The chair had black stains on it. The lighting was bad. The bathroom was something out of the 80's ( Ironically it was the most spacious part of the hotel). The worst part was how uncomfortable the bed was. Both my bf and I were constantly waking up in the middle of the night because the bed was hard and lumpy. I don't think i will stay at a novotel again esp not the one at rockford

The hotel room was very small, but VERY clean and comfortable. The other good thing was that you could actually set up temperature according to your liking :-)

Hotel was excellent value for the king size bed and breakfast package that we purchased.Location was perfect for the harbour and for city centre. Pumphouse bar and restaurant attached made relaxing for a meal and a drink easy if you didn't want to go to far. However there were loads of other bars and restaurants close by.

Well located hotel opposite Chinatown and very near Paddies market. Easy walk to George Street to pick up public transport to CBD and Circular Quay (free bus 555). Also easy walk (5 to 10 min) along gardens/plazas (well away from traffic) from hotel to Cockle Bay/Darling Harbour which is packed with cafes and restaurants.
