Novotel Peace Hotel Beijing
4 out of 5

I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the room rate included a buffet breakfast, which was delightful. The staff were polite and helpful, and the swimming pool was well heated and was a good alternative to a cold winter evening outdoors. My only complaint was that the television was not working but I wasn't motivated to complain since the swimming pool compensated for this fault. Also the standing lamp was out of order but the other lights were sufficient.

Good location, in the heart of Wangfujing shopping area. Superior Room is comfortable but bathroom is a bit small . House keeping is good . Good restaurants within walking distance (including 那家花园、大董烤鸭、全聚德烤鸭、北京海底捞火锅)。

Requested for Queen size bed but were given 2 double beds instead for 4 persons in 4 rooms. This is more of an Air France hotel for the crew with special tea and coffee area set up but none for guests. I thought it was similar to Sofitel in Xi'an where there is an area for all hotel guests. Also the staff out at porch were not helpful in getting hotel except the last day where staff was efficient in getting 2 cabs in 2mins. So out of 6 days, only last day to airport we can get a cab. Not many dining options to use the A-card. Japanese and Chinese restaurants are not part of Novotel.

The best feature of the hotel is its centric location - an easy walking distance to a major commercial district and a long walk to the Forbidden City, Tianaman Square.... The worst part is its staff, not friendly or helpful. Breakfast is too expensive for a pedestrian quality variety and quality. Has amenities that most short-term travelers would not use. I'd rather have a lower price than features that I won't use.

Very centrally located relative to cultural heritage sites, theatres as well as central shopping areas in Beijing. Relatively close to subway-stations.

There is an old wing with dated rooms. The main building I am guessing has nicer (and more expensive?) rooms. PRetty disappointing overall. No personality. Horrible carpets.

Excellent location to the shopping localities and close to the Forbidden City and Tenimen Square. The older part building where we stayed was a little outdated and needs a refurbishment. No doubt the new wing would be more modern. Reception staff were very helpful and could speak good English The restaurant was very good for buffet braekfast and dinner.

Rather clean for Beijing. Very good location, decent breakfast. They claim to have WiFi only on their "premier" floors and in the lobby, but you can occasionally get signal on other floors as well. BUT the internet is dropping very frequently and slow. All in all, for Beijing centre - good hotel. It might be cheaper, but for this price it's almost OK.

Excellent location, great unobtrusive service, within walking distance to Wangfujing & the Forbidden city. We had everything that we needed in the hotel and out of the hotel. All you need to do is be adventurous. Cabs to the airport run 24/7. We will definitely stay here again.

Honest and friendly staff, especially Joe at the currency counter, who returned to me $100 AUD that i had unknowingly overpaid. Steven and Jack on the front door have always gone beyond the call of duty and helped me with all aspects of my stay - not once, but on the dozen times that i have stayed at this hotel. They make my stay at the Novotel Peace, memorable and make me feel so at home and safe.

Everything is good, EXCEPT room size, which is very small, for a hotel in China. Otherwise, location is excellent, and internet is free, breakfast is not bad either.

I was really impressed by the Hotel service and response of the management. I wrote to the hotel telling them that I was upset that no one had responded to our emails and they took the feedback on board and graciously upgraded us. They made a grwat effort to resolve all our queries and /or issues. Location wise this place is superb. I would highly recommend staying in this hotel.

The breakfast buffet was exceptional! So pleasantly surpirsed with the location. The one and only thing that could need a bit of improvment would be gym/pool facilities

The hotel is very conveniently located.Shopping malls are at walking range. The Forbidden City is just few minutes away. The train station is about ten-minute walk from the hotel. The rate we paid was very reasonable. We got two connecting rooms, spacious but need retouching though. We noticed the doors didnt have double locks. We couldnt change since there was no other connecting room apart from what we had.Above all, our stay was pleasant. We'll probably go back there next time.
