I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the room rate included a buffet breakfast, which was delightful. The staff were polite and helpful, and the swimming pool was well heated and was a good alternative to a cold winter evening outdoors. My only complaint was that the television was not working but I wasn't motivated to complain since the swimming pool compensated for this fault. Also the standing lamp was out of order but the other lights were sufficient.

Good location, in the heart of Wangfujing shopping area. Superior Room is comfortable but bathroom is a bit small . House keeping is good . Good restaurants within walking distance (including 那家花园、大董烤鸭、全聚德烤鸭、北京海底捞火锅）。

Requested for Queen size bed but were given 2 double beds instead for 4 persons in 4 rooms. This is more of an Air France hotel for the crew with special tea and coffee area set up but none for guests. I thought it was similar to Sofitel in Xi'an where there is an area for all hotel guests. Also the staff out at porch were not helpful in getting hotel except the last day where staff was efficient in getting 2 cabs in 2mins. So out of 6 days, only last day to airport we can get a cab. Not many dining options to use the A-card. Japanese and Chinese restaurants are not part of Novotel.

The best feature of the hotel is its centric location - an easy walking distance to a major commercial district and a long walk to the Forbidden City, Tianaman Square.... The worst part is its staff, not friendly or helpful. Breakfast is too expensive for a pedestrian quality variety and quality. Has amenities that most short-term travelers would not use. I'd rather have a lower price than features that I won't use.
