Skien Climate
Skien has pleasantly mild to warm summers with average highs of 20-22°C. As for winters, lows drop to -7°C and the weather is quite snowy during the months of December through February. Spring and fall are pleasant times to visit, but snowfall can occur until the month of April.
Getting There & Around
By train, visitors can arrive in Oslo and get to the city in about three hours, however, the train generally stops in Larvik; therefore the last portion of the trip to Skien is serviced by bus. To reach the area by plane, visitors will fly into the Geiteryggen Airport.
To get about the area, most will hire cars or use local buses provided by over five different companies. Travellers will find in Norway that where trains don’t travel, buses do.
