i chose this hote or a quiet weekend away, and lets say it was far from what i got. firstly we were in room 4, the ground floor room, and we could here everything going on at reception. on top of this we were told there was a 'function' on, and music would be on until 12. so there was a quiet weekend ruined already. the music was blearing, and unbearable, and this was meant to be the 'family' room. on top of this there was a fan in the bathroom that activated with the light, which took about half an hour to turn off. i have never had a more noisy hotel stay. in the morning i explained to the receptionist, who previously had been polite and helpful, but all of a sudden begun to show a much ruder, arrogant side, and was not apologetic at all. i am disgusted with this hotel, and would not advice anyone to stay, even at the rate i paid was a JOKE!

As the hotel is on a main route into Edinburgh we found the traffic noise bad at night.
