I appreciated being immediately moved to another non-smoking room when requested. Also, W... at the front desk was very helpful in resolving a room air conditioning problem.

The only problem that I had with the Newton hotel was that at HK$ 1000 per night it was over priced, as it is more like a 2.5 star hotel and therefore the rate should be aproximately HK$ 650 per night. This is my opinion based on my knowledge of extensive travel and nights spend at hotels throughout Asia.

Customer service was aweful, the staff AND the manager did not try to help us at all. We reserved a room through the internet, and when we got to the hotel for check in, the hotel would not give us a room due to "certain restrictions" that were not mentioned AT ALL on the internet. We were on a business trip and time was vital and yet the staff had us waited for more than 1 hour in the lobby, and did not show a helping, customer-first attitude to resolve the problem. The manager was also there and he knew we've been waiting there for a long time, yet he just pretended he didn't see us. I will not recommend any of my friends, colleagues, or anyone to stay in the Newton Hotel Kowloon.

Although the room was small it was an excellent place to stay as you are only there to sleep.

Double standard on different tourists. Before we returned every night, hotel staff insisted we put our wet umbrellas in a super tiny opening plastic bag which our umbrella could not fit in. Whereas, for other tourists arriving in cars, hotel staff does not do anything even if their umbrellas drip all over the place. Please change the hotel umbrella bags to a bigger one.
