Haast Climate
Haast has cool and comfortable weather all year round. From the winter months of June through August, the temperatures range around 12°,C and in summer, the months of December through February, experience temperatures of 16°C to 19°C. Annual precipitation averages about 3,637 mm and falls consistently throughout the year.
Getting There & Around
To reach Haast by plane, the closest international airport is in Queenstown. Flights served by the airport are from Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne. From Queenstown, flights will fly to Wanaka Airport where visitors can take State Highway 6 via hired car to reach town.
With no public transportation, travellers need to utilize either their rental cars or feet. Walking and cycling will get visitors about in town; however, a rental car is best for getting out and exploring the area.
