Getting There & Around
The nearest airports are Dunedin and Invercargill, although international flights first land in Auckland or Christchurch and then offer connecting flights. Gore resides along State Highway 1 (which runs between Invercargill and Dunedin), and is a two-hour drive from Dunedin. It is also possible to charter a helicopter to Gore. There are no public transportation services available once you arrive in Gore, so car is the best mode of transportation. During the summer months, visitors also enjoy getting around by bicycle.
