Papatoetoe is a suburb in the New Zealand city of Auckland. Located between the area’s two largest harbours, Waitemata and Manukau, Papatoetoe has likely been inhabited for as long as anywhere in New Zealand. The name translated from Maori means “undulating area where the toetoe (which is a plant that grows in the swampy areas) is the predominate feature”.
