At any given time, there are usually 5 to 6 special exhibits that stay for a few months only to be replaced by new exhibitions. This keeps the collection fresh, new, and interesting for return visitors.

Special Events

The Auckland Art Gallery holds special events throughout the week to keep visitors coming back. They also hold demonstrations, lectures, performances, and exhibition walkthroughs.

On Sunday they hold a children’s workshop where children can create and have their works displayed. They hold a monthly Kids Club where children learn everything from sculpture to hieroglyphics. This is a tremendous program for children to learn, experience, and appreciate art.

Admission and Hours

The Auckland Art Gallery is open daily from 10am-5pm except Christmas and Easter. Admission to the Gallery is free but special exhibits cost $7 for adults and children under 5 years old are free.
