New World Hotel Makati City Manila Guest Reviews
Great location! When in Manila this is usually my first choice in hotels. The amenities are great, However, the only set back is that the Hotel does not offer free Internet. One would think, $150.00 a night hotel would offer Free WiFi but that is not the case. A charge of 750PhP (Appox $17.00) for 24 hour usage

I'm a frequent world traveler so I have a fair pool of hotel experiences to compare. I've been to New world hotel when it was still "Renaissance" hotel. It was great, clean, modern feel as far as I remember. Now, it's NOT that at all. I booked the Executive Club Room and here's my review: Bathroom: - The first thing that I go to to gauge the quality. - Broken fixtures (handtowel holder was flimsy and literally broken) - Ugly culking - Just plain old, you get that yellowish creamish color ceramics. - Faucet, and other fixtures was worn out, not polished - Bathroom tissue holder was almost at the (side) back of the toilet seat. Literally have to make a 90% turn to get tissue. Room - Nothing special, same as the other lesser priced rooms. You just pay for the higher floor - Bed headboard looks cheap and old - Desk chair is this old wood chair. I expected at least an ergo desk chair since it is an exec room. - Layout was bad, as the TV is totally diagonal to the bed. So you'd expect the TV to have some swivel- No it does not swivel so you have to move the screen to face the bed and you'd be sitting sideways on your bed to view the TV. - ugly carpet pattern (like leopard patterns) You do pay extra for the executive room to get "free" breakfast and internet access.

I'm a frequent world traveler so I know I have a very fair feedback. To start, this is not a 5-star hotel, it might have been when it was "Renaissance Hotel" years back. I remember enjoying my stay then. This is more like a 2.5 star hotel in my view. To make things worst, I booked a good "executive room" where you need a card to get to. NOTHING special! Bathroom is very important and set the whole standard. It has broken fixtures, feels old, you see ugly culking, poor paint job. Room: Ugly carpet, cheap wood table, fixtures are old, ugly paint job again, bed headboard is for a 2 start hotel. My god! the chair is a old repainted chair! This is an executive room??? How much less for the basic room. The only good thing is the location. Next to shopping, restaurants, bar, business center.

Good location, great staff only complaint is the prices for the room, food and drink. Right across the street is the mall where there are many restaurants with good food and drink at half the price.

Everything was good except for one thing there is no WiFi in the room, you have to go down the lobby to have a wireless connection.
