You get what you pay for.... so if you want to pay a minimum, be located in the Bayswater/Queensway area, and are content with absolutely NO frills, this is an ok place to stop for a night or two.

Very small room, bad and small showering and WC. Did not get what I had recommended. Got a better room last night of my stay, but the only good was the price. Service was ok. The hotel need a new look and better rooms. Pics on homepage dosent fit with reallity. They have no rooms for smokers.

A three minute walk from Bayswater tube station and resturants and the price we paid was great for the location but don't expect anything special! I'm sure the backpacker accomodations are 100% better! Shower was 1 meter by 1 meter with the toilet right next to the shower. The bathroom wouldn't be anymore then 2 by 2 metres. Shower did not attatch to the wall so you had to hold it in one hand and try to wash in the other with out getting the bathroom floor and toilet soaked as the shower curtain is useless. The room was about 4 by 3 metres, including the bathroom, no room for bags. Staff weren't helpful except for the woman who served breakfast. Breakfast was good for the price you pay. Not recommended to anyone who cannot handle camping!

new dawn hotel london was the worst place i've ever visited.. and i travel a lot. the rooms were small and disgusting and if you were lucky to have toilet and shower within your room, you could hardly move inside. the shower curtain kept falling down and it was almost impossible to reach the sink. i'm not talking about one room only. i've seen 4 of them and they were all in the same condition. it looks like money hasn't been spent on refurbishing probably since 1856. i would never recommend this hotel to anyone not even to my worst enemy. i think they should pay you to stay in place like that.

Excellent location in central London, the staff were friendly and helpful: allowed me to leave luggage, came to help me close the bedroom window immediately when I asked (too stiff for my arthritic hands), offered my young son chocolates and generally very good at offering directions, information and any help in a useful and friendly way. The carpets in the corridors weren't well vacuumed, but the room was clean, basic, budget, no-thrills, compact but in decent order and everything worked properly. The beds were nicely made with smart clean linen, clean towels and soaps provided. One of our beds was very lumpy and horribly uncomfortable, making for a dreadful night's sleep, very unpleasant to lie on, really needed a new mattress. The dinning room was clean and pleasant, the food basic but nice with quick friendly service.
