Great fun had at this splendid hotel. Only blip was a dreadful glass of red wine served at the bar. It was undrinkable. Rubish when you think of all the excellent wines in SA.

Thanks to KLM we spent a very brief stay here on Christmas eve . Thanks to KLM losing ALL three of our cases we checked in at 2am instead of midnight and were stressed out and weary to say the least.The staff were great giving us a room close by. The room was scrupulously clean and the bed had a gloriously soft yet supportive mattress. The bathroom lacked a bath which wasn't an issue for us but it was well lit with a large mirror and a superbly powerful shower in a glass cabinet covering the area which would have been the bath. Breakfast was a delicious hot & cold buffet with plenty of attentive staff in a bright room with large windows overlooking the garden. With KLM having lost all our luggage the concierge came to our rescue with various toiletries which freshened us up for our onward journey.

Excellent Hotel - sensible prices and convenient for all Cape Town venues - but not handicapped by being on the waterfront with all its drawbacks. Staff are excellent and facilities superb. 2 pools, 2 restaurants and superb grounds. 45 minutes into Cape Town on a direct route - so not easy to get lost. Lots of good restaurants around Someset West and right in the middle of the winelands. Highly recommended.

Will definitely recommend NH Lord Charles Hotel Cape Town to anyone who wants a pleasant and relaxing stay at Cape Town and Stellenbosch. Great place, very nice people.

Very attentive staff.. Seems to be a lot of repeat business judging from the welcome back being given by staff. Although used by SAGA, we as independent travellers found it a great base for exploring the Cape. Best to get a hire car. Some shops and restaurants within safe walking distance. Looking forward to returning for our 4th visit
