Location
Conveniently located in the heart of the ancient historical city centre, the Grand Porta Rossa Hotel is placed quite close to the Uffizi Gallery and Ponte Vecchio and is also just a short walk from the Nuovo Mercato and Il Duomo.

Restaurant
The breakfast is served at the breakfast room, in buffet style and consists of a classic Italian Continental breakfast. The lounge is particularly popular in the early evenings when you can enjoy a drink from the bar whilst watching both tourists and Florentine alike hurry past outside the hotel's windows.

NH Porta Rossa Hotel Florence Guest Reviews
We had a wonderful stay for 4 nights during our honeymoon in Italy. We stayed at some pretty nice places throughout our trip, but this was by far our favorite! The location is perfect- very central to most everything, but located on a relatively quiet section of the street. The room was very clean and pretty spacious (especially for european standards). One thing worth mentioning is the beds in Italy tend to be on the hard/firm side, and it took us some getting adjusted to--not the case with NH Porta Rossa--finally a comfortable bed! The staff was knowledgeable, professional, and INCREDIBLY friendly and helpful- particularly Minea and Andreas. They booked our Uffizi gallery tickets, made several dinner reservations for us, etc. Also, I emailed them a week before our arrival to let them know I am allergic to down feathers and they made sure the room was feather free (sounds simple enough, but was not done at other expensive hotels!) They also gave us a complimentary upgrade for our honeymoon from a superior room to a deluxe room, which was an added bonus. Huge selection at breakfast, which was pretty good. There is also free wi-fi in the lobby sitting area - would've been nice to have in the room, but not really a big deal. All, in all, we HIGHLY recommend this hotel, and would definitely stay here if we go back!

This hotel was not very good. The bathroom was too small and old. The beds were not really confortable. For the Price, I expected more.

Old hotel but in near perfect location. Provided a good basis for exploring the city with a spacious room, reasonable bathroom and adequate breakfast. All in all not a luxury experience but great for seeing Florence easily.

Don't stay at the Porta Rossa if you're looking for luxury. This is an historic hotel and it's like living in a museum. Poor facilities, terrible shower, mediocre breakfasts, indifferent staff ... but time-warp decor, a comfortable bed and great position easily compensate.

Rooms were larger than expected and it is in a very good location not far from the ponte vecchio, staff are relatively friendly florence is very expensive so this hotel was fairly good value for money.
