Clean, spacious rooms in good location. Walking distance to everything. Wasn't the cheapest but we were there at new years. Didn't try the breakfast as it seemed expensive.

Great location. Excellent breakfast - lovely decor in restaurant made breakfast very relaxing & enjoyable. However our 'superior' bedroom was badly in need of refurbishment - carpet was tatty & worn in places & bathroom needed updating too. Quite expensive for the room compared to other 4star hotels where we have stayed nearby.

We arrived in the evening and were welcomed by a sweet young lady who when she saw our reservation for six nights instantly decided to give us an upgrade with 'A VIEW". Room #532 was great. Looking out over Munt square and being serenaded by the Munt tower!! It can be noisy out there but we never had any trouble sleeping . One (in our opinion)drawback; you can not use the refrigerator.It's stocked in such a way that nothing can be changed so you can put your own stuff in it. Not a big problem. Everything else is close by, restaurants etc. We enjoyed our stay.

The NH Amsterdam was in a great location and on check in the staff were very welcoming and helpful. We had booked a deluxe room and this was very spacious and well equipped but it was dusty and would have welcomed a thorough spring clean. However this was not major as the room itself was a great size. The location was great -easy for tram and sightseeing -right next to teh Flower Market - would stay there again

While the staff at this hotel are friendly and helpful, it certainly does not meet 4 star standards. It is more of a 3 star hotel - perhaps once a grander hotel, it is in need of an upgrade. Old fashioned furnishings/blankets etc. Staff however was very helpful. We didn't eat breakfast, as felt it was over priced at 20euro (plus 5 if you wanted room service). Hotel was in a good location - just don't expect a 4 star hotel!!

We had only one complaint with the room we stayed in- the maintenance was not up to scratch - there was a crack in the sink in the bathroom and the drain in the shower was broken - spoiled an otherwise nice room.

I rated the pricing highly because I paid 40% of the rack rate. The location is brilliant, the hotel quite good but caters for the older/moneyed set so is geared towards those submitting to the pleasures of Amsterdam rather than fitness etc. Online info (TV Menu) is very good

Had to make the receptionist aware of that my bill didn't contain a subtraction of the already prepaid amount. So I almost paid the same amount twice, even though it is a standard that you have to prepay some amount when doing internet booking.

This hotel was ideally located for us to get to all the attractions by foot. The room was very clean and spacious, the food in the morning was good and the restaurant decor was very pleasant. The food in the restaurant at night (the italian that is) was lovely - although I do believe it is a smoking restaurant however, when we were there it was quiet so not a problem. Would recommend this hotel and certainly will be coming back - excellent value for money

Only critisism is the fact that the restaurant does not cater for non-smokers. Crazy as we booked and had a non-smoker room. The hotel has non-smoking meeting rooms but you are expected to enjoy a good meal with fumes passing over your plate.TOTALLY UN-ACCEPTABLE.

I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to splash out a little. The hotel is right in the heart of Amsterdam, close to all attractions. Facilities are excellent, with rooms cleaned every day. Excellent value for money, considering the deal we got!

Jolly Carlton Amsterdam is in a great location (in between the Leidseplein and Rembrandtsplein). The atmosphere in the bar on the ground floor is generally unwelcoming and the service was poor, except on one occasion, when it was quite good. The facilities aren't great - there's no fitness area, for example. Service was generally sullen or unfriendly. I wouldn't stay in that hotel again unless I really had to stay in that location - but there are plenty of hotels around there to choose from.
