My Place Dublin Apartments Guest Reviews
I arrived at the apartments to be told that my (4*)apartment was not available as there had been a plumbing leak and they had not had chance to fix it, but not to worry as I had been put in to one of the rooms in their (2*) hotel. Given that it was 10.30pm, and I had received no prior call to allow me to make alternative arrangements, I felt I had no option to accept this, so we stayed their under the promise that all would be sorted for the next day. Upon rising on Saturday I returned to reception to be told by the first person that the room was still not ready but they were going to move us to their best room, only to be told by a second person that I would in fact be moved to another set of apartments the other side of the river! Upon feeling rather agreived at this I was told that the other alternative was to cancel my reservation and I'd have to find somewhere else to stay?! Not really an option. So I had to waste part of my day in Dublin moving to another hotel.

The hotel directed us to the apartment around some back streets. The front door was blocked by telephone workers drilling a hole. This was not a good first impression after an 11 hour flight, nor the noise of construction taking place within inches of the bedroom window. One coathanger was available between two bedrooms, one cereal bowl and spoon available, the television wouldn't work because we were "too low" to receive a signal, and the washing machine and dishwasher had no washing powder available, even in single sachets. Guests don't want to purchase purchase family-size supplies at the local supermarket for 2 days. The apartment hadn't been vacuumed properly after the departure of previous guests. If we hadn't been so travel-weary we would have moved out immediately. The one bright light was its central location.
