My Home Hotel Kuchai Lama

AVOID AT ALL COSTS We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights because it is close to where our friends live and the price was quite good even for a budget hotel. When we checked in the receptionist didn't have our booking - apparently the travel agent hadn't sent the booking details. But they had a room so we could check in with no problems. On the 2nd day the bathroom glass door frame came off and the glass nearly fell on my girlfriend. I went down to see the receptionist, which at that time was eating and talking VERY loudly over the phone, I assume to her friend, over her facebook account which was open on the computer screen. After waiting for her to finish her important conversation, I explained the situation, to which she was very unsympathetic about and said she would come up and see it for herself. I went to back to my room and waited for 10 minutes before she finally came up. And when she saw the collapsed door, first thing she said was, "You need to pay for it ah sir, because when you got it the room was fine." And she continued talking to us very loudly with no respect. I ended up having to threaten her because she wouldn't stop, and demanded that I speak to her boss right away. And I demanded an apology from her for being so rude to her customer. All of a sudden she became very polite and even smiled at us. She got us another room at no extra charge. That night we asked the night receptionist to book us a taxi for 9am the following day. She wrote a note to the morning receptionist to do so in the morning. When we checked out and asked if she (the yelling receptionist from previous day) had booked the taxi, she said "No I haven't". No apology. No explanation. She then asked us to walk to the main road and get a taxi from there. I nearly exploded at that moment because where in the world can you get a taxi at 9am without making any booking? That could mean that we would miss our bus to Singapore and our continuing flight to Jakarta. But I figured that there is no point arguing with this idiot. Please, please, please, avoid this hotel at all cost. The facilites are actually fine. The biggest letdown is the treatment we get from their receptionist who is supposed to be the first point of contact for customer. Her name is Nina and she is a big, short, Malay lady with thick framed glasses. Don't ruin your holiday over this useless lady like she nearly did ours!
