Location
As well as catering to sports enthusiasts the Murrayfield Hotel is perfectly placed for sightseers, with Edinburgh city's main attractions located just a short bus ride away - no trip would be complete without a tour of Edinburgh Castle and the old city. Closer to the hotel guests can take a stroll around Edinburgh Zoo.

Rooms
The 33 comfortable non-smoking guest rooms have en suite facilities, flat screen LCD TVs, tea and coffee making facilities, direct dial telephones and can accommodate up to four visitors.

Restaurant
Guests at the Murrayfield Hotel can enjoy a traditional Scottish breakfast in the elegant dining room, or have it delivered to their bedroom. The friendly hotel bar has a sports theme, and visitors are welcome to enjoy a drink here or - weather permitting- sit in the pleasant beer garden.

Murrayfield Hotel Edinburgh
4 out of 5

The hotel and especially the staff made our stay over Christmas an absolute treat. Our first two noghts were very enjoyable and the staff Brian Anne Maria couldnt have been any more helpful and welcoming. Then when we returned on the 26th we were upgraded to one of the room s in the House. What can i say , out of this world! As an interior designer here on the South Coast of Spain I loved the decor and the way the traditional was mixed seamlessly with the modern ...whether the lighting ,the colour scheme or the rather wacky art in the front garden the whole thing worked a treat!!! I have raved about it since, so good luck to you all and a special thank you to the staff xxx

Hotel in great location but hotel certainly in need of all over upgrading and redecoration. Windows old and cracked and noise from traffic very loud.

Arrived early, no problem to leave luggage until check in time. No lift, so may be a problem if in upstairs room, but im sure if you let them know beforehand you could ask for ground floor room. I booked single room but had double bed. Room very small, but your not there to be in your bedroom. The bed was very hard, and my goodness, the pillows were awful. My room faced the main road into Edinburg.Very , very noisy with traffic so really had no sleep at all. Didnt eat in hotel, but menu looked ok, and prices fair, busy lounge used by both residents and locals.

The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the water was hot. What more does one need in a hotel room (unless you're going to stay in it 24 hours per day)? The Bar and Restaurant were traditional and provided a lovely introduction to Scots cuisine and brews. Try the Carrick Knowe Golf Club - the flatest, widest, duffer-friendliest course in all of Scotland.

Outstanding value. Refurbished rooms offer excellant accommodation in relation to price. Friendly staff who offer a very helpful and efficient service. I have stayed at the hotel 3 times and every time is consistantly good. The Bar and Restaurant areas are steeped in Rugby Football history which adds to the overall character of the Hotel - Well done to all at the Murrayfield.

Very happy with the facilities for my over night stay. Whilst a little way out of the City, there is a bus stop nearby with frequent buses to the town centre. Location is ideal if you are in Edinburgh for a rugby match.

We felt that greater use should have been made of the dining room facility. It needed refurbishment and the hotel seemed to prefer that guests ate in the bar in the evening. Very well served by local transport allowing guests to leave the car behind. Very friendly and helpful staff.
