The 14 year old hotel is in great need of a serious renovation. Huge lovely garden and small hotel so few facilities that even close early. Breakfast buffet not very good. Restaurant great but somewhat pricey. Nice pool but beach is difficult to use for swimming as there are many rocks. The rooms are not comfortable due to Zen style. The reception feels like an office.

the pricing in bar and restaurant was overpriced. the breakfast would be better if were a buffet. it would be great if there were mosquitoe nets or mosquito zappers plugged into the wall in the rooms.

Located in a quieter, cleaner part of Chaweng Beach (North), but only a couple of minutes walk to all the action. Would definitely stay there again if I go back to Samui.

We loved this hotel very very much! We had booked 3 nights in a deluxe room (the superior ones are by the road and may have a bit of noise so we played it safe) and were to spend the following 2 nights at the Kala and I had left our 2 last nights "opened". Well, right after the Kala, we checked ourselves back in the same room at the Muang Kulaypan! The hotel grounds are beautiful, the garden is enormous and gorgeous and there is a real feeling of peace and space. The pool is gorgeous and just the right size and the salas are amazing for relaxing. We never bothered lying on the loungers by the beach as the salas are a lot more comfortable. They have a bell and you can ring for your favorite drink! The staff is super friendly and breakfast is great, I really enjoyed the Siamese one which changed every day. I got to visit the Inao suites and if you can afford the extra they are really stylish! our room was very comfortable and we hope to come back to this little gem of a hotel.

A lovely hotel close enough to the action (5 minutes walk) but far enough to provide a peaceful beachside retreat. The staff were friendly and attentive, excellent breakfast and a fantastic swimming pool area. I would definately return!
