My husband and I visited the Moon Palace in Jan. 2012 and had a great time. The resort was excellent. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff was wonderful; very helpful and friendly. The food was good. The pools were amazing. The only thing I would change is the beach. The water had a lot of seaweed so it wasn't as clear as other beaches in Cancun. Overall, we had a great vacation and I would definitely go back again.

The resort is very big. It has 3 hotels. We stayed at the Nizuc palace. I liked you have access to all of them, even the ones in the hotel zone. The food is very good. I especially liked the Mexican food restaturant The Caporales. The staff is very friendly. I would definitely go back to Moon Palace.

We enjoyed the many restaurants, the long beach for great runs, fabulous golf course with lots of wild life, spa (great massages), and the many large pools. Our two children in their early 20's had a marvelous time, as did we. It was fantastic that the resort was so big as neither the beach nor pools were ever very crowded even though the resort was very full. We actually went found a spot everyday that was away form playing children. We walked between the many places, but shuttles ran regularly. The featured restaurants that had a dress code got very busy, but well worth the wait. I would recommend planning for an hour wait, so don't go starving. Room service was included, but we never used it as we enjoyed being out. The resort offered shuttles to the sister resorts/shopping that were great for a one afternoon get-away. We swam with the dolphins and had fun at the wet and wild water park and were totally amazed at the Chichen Itza trip. Be forewarned that Chichen Itza is a very long day (you leave at 9 and return at 7:30). We booked our trips directly though the resort, as the staff was very helpful and nice. The only uncomfortable part of the trip for us was that there were people tipping the staff and the staff gratefully accepting it. Having gone to many other all-inclusive resorts tipping was highly discouraged (Although I might have been guilty of tipping a favorite bar tender at the end of my trip at other resorts as small token.), but here it seemed to be expected and happen frequently. I was not prepared as only having large bills and when asked for change, I was told to ask the bellman as they always had change. This was just something very, very small, and I would highly recommend this resort for anyone!

We just returned from a week in Cancun. Although we did have a wonderful week in weather and excursions, we were disappointed with our travel coordinator there.... we were also confused about WHO to really talk to about the "RESORT CREDITS"...as everyone poses as a person to help you yet they ALL tried to get us to go on "TOUR" or "look at the property"...in otherwords...give up 5-6 hours of our vacation to listen to their sales pitch on a TIME SHARE.... really?..? I went to relax with my children not sit wasting my time listening to something I am not interested in... I hated being cornered at the Airport, at check in, at each "HELP" desk, etc.. we did not take the tour but we did have a lot of time that was wasted trying to spend our "RESORT CREDITS".... BE WARE.....RESORT CREDITS ARE NOT WHAT THEY SEEM!!!!! The pool staff, the restaurant staff, the cleaning staff, the bell hops were ALL outstanding... truly friendly and kind to tourists. The grounds are beautiful, the rooms clean and nicely accented. The food was plentiful and varied in each restaurant...good choices no matter what your preference.

The room really smells bad. It may come from the bathroom or outside. It looks nice at a glance, however, you can tell it's aging fast. Many corners are dirty and the bathroom was not neat (poor cauking). We had $750 room credit but we could use only $480. Many activities such as parasailing, jet ski and spas are not eligible to use. The vacation guide at the lobby really tried to sell the condo sales seminar, wasted one hour. DInners are fine but breakfast and lunch are really just average. Hotel buildings seriously need repainting. Many sections are rusted and have peeled off paints. I paid $3200 for 4 nights / 4 person. I think about $2300 would have been just right.

1. Rooms: Didnt get the rooms we paid and requested for. 2. Stay hungry every night. No reservations for any resturants so average wait time 90 minutes unless you eat at 5 pm. 3. 1500 credit is a joke. Pretty much everything is not available or its a huge comprise. E.g. I need agree for a 90 min presentation (will sell palace vactions) to use my credit for tour. positive: 1. Some staff are good, resort and pools are clean

All staff were courteous, respectful & eager to help. Particularly a couple of restaurants inside Moon Place- Nizuc. Manglar(Raquel Villagran) & Los Caporales. We really aprreciated the care the Italian Restaurant in the Golf Resort area. My son proposed to his girlfriend there over dinner with 10 family members looking on. They accommodated us to make this more special. Moon Palace was beautiful. The rooms & grounds immaculate, I never saw any trash on the floor. If I have anything negative to say about this wonderful resort it would have to be about the pillows & sheets smelling a little musty, which may be due to the area. This is our first vacation, but not our last.. My husband & I were celebrating our 25th Wedding anniversary. We loved the fact they had Church & they performed weddings. We will go back.

First trip to Cancun, moon palace is a perfect all inclusive place to stay. Great food choices, many restaurants and very good quality. Nice pool and easy access to bars anywhere in the resort. Good room service and friendly. Kids had great fun. We did some actives jet ski wave runner, biking and parasailing. We stayed at Grand but kids preferred Nizuc and Sunrise which is more kid friendly and activities for kids. They had buses and vans running frequently between the buildings. 15 min drive from the Airport and we have reserved from US which worked out perfect for drop off and pick up. Easy access to the beach from all the buildings. The hotel gave us credits which was good but restricted for few activities only. Great stay!!!!

Was a nice trip ,The kids Club was very nice ,the ocean water was little murky, one of the full bed was lumpy (I din't sleep good for 2 nights)and I swich it with my kids, they were ok with it .The person who book our trips misinform us about one trip ''Tulum" which was not kid friendly .Then we book a water park trip'Wet & Wild" ,was nice ,and next to the water park was a Dolphinarium which we did the next day ,was a very nice expirience ,but we will like it to be in the same day with the water park so we don't waste a day,The transportation was not included for the Dolphinaruim, and we took a taxi to get there . The kids and my husband went parasailing and that was so much fun .The food was good and the people were very nice.Overall was a nice trip the kids love it so we may go back ,maybe to a different hotel .

Pros=Best place we ever stayed. Cons= Food was and service was excelent with one exception. They had an up-charge on the Surf and Turf on the beach. Worst food we had on the trip. The Filets were well done and the lobster was very dry and they did not even supply dipping butter for them. Also be aware of the so called bonus points. We had a $300 charge at check out for a service that was suppose to be covered with resorts bonus points. Don't let any of this stop you from going. GREAT PLACE.

We stayed in the Nizuc section of the resort. It was perfect - not too big and not too small. Our room was ocean front with spectacular views. The staff everywhere in the resort were super friendly and provided outstanding service. Food was excellent everywhere, but especially dinner at the two restaurants by the Golf and Spa section. They kept the beach immaculate and provided lounge chairs and thatched shade unbrellas. Lots of activities throughtout the day. Nightly shows were excellent. Will definitely go back.

Stayed at the Moon Palace Nov. 18-23, 2011. A great place to stay. Rooms are beginning to show a little age, but still nice and very comfortable. The clocks are hard wired so they go off with motion sensors that turn on lights when you enter and leave the rooms. Bring a battery operated one or rely on your watch. Staff was very helpful and willing to assist. Raul at the main pool at Mizuk hotel was fantastic. He would run to a restaurant and bring back food for you if you asked and always had drinks filled. Food was very good. We just didn't have enough time or a big enough appetite to try all the restaurant locations available at the 3 hotels on the Moon Palace resort facilities. We did the special couples lobster dinner. It was disappointing and I would not recommend it. Golf is very challenging. Rented clubs were nice but having your own would make the tight fairways easier to hit. Spa was excellent. Moon is off the main strip of hotels which is nice to be away from the hussle and bustle, but also is a drive to get to the main areas of Cancun. The $1500 in credit at the facilites goes a long way. Make sure to aske about all the ways you can use it. Didn't need to spend much out of pocket money during the entire trip. Overall it is easy to recommend and we are planning on going back.

We stayed at Moon Palace last year, the same time of the year. We didn't receive the same level of service or offers this year. The staff was great but it seemed there were less workers - they were stretched too thin for how many guests were there. Last year, there weren't many others at the resort. This year, there were so many people but the staff wasn't increased to match the increased number of guests. We had to wait at restaurants; the wait staff also seemed to be minimal. None of the ice machines in our area were working. We had to order ice from room service. Also, the push to purchase extras was very aggressive. We couldn't use our resort credits for anything special unless we attended a 1 and half hour presentation. Not our idea of a good way to spend vacation. We left with more than $600 of resort credits unspent (out of $750 - we upgraded to an ocean view) because we couldn't use them on the stuff we wanted. The lobster dinner offered (that last year was a sunset cruise & lobster dinner but not now...) was booked so far ahead it wasn't within our time frame. Overall, we were disappointed with Moon Palace. They seem to be focusing on the time-share aspect rather than providing the vacation experience they gave us last year. We will say, however, that one night's event, the Beach Party, was excellent all the way around. The food was great; the music was great; the crowd interaction was great; but mostly the service that night was excellent...like last year! All in all, I doubt we return to Moon Palace.
