Located at 534 Northbourne avenue Downer, the Miranda Lodge is just a short walk to the Dickson shopping centre and 4 kilometres north of the GPO. Also within walking distance from the lodge are Yowani country club, ACT Netball, Hockey and Tennis Centres, Exhibition Centre, Kamberra Winery and the Racecourse.

Very handy to city area. Very clean. Breakfast was great and service was good.

I arrived later in the evening in the pouring rain and it took me a while to realise that the outside phone was the only means to speak to 'reception'. The key was in the door - I didn't meet anybody until the next morning breakfast. The room was clean but in a dated 'country manor' decor. Quite noisy from the main thoroughfare road, not exactly helped by the big gap under the front door. All in all an acceptable accommodation if alternatives closer to the centre and/or cheaper are booked out.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Very close to many restaurants. We had a fantastic Indian meal!

This motel is quite a distance from the city and therefore a considerable taxi ride, unless you have your own car.
