Tuxtla Gutierrez is hot and humid all year round, with little temperature variation throughout the year. Maximum temperatures approach 30°C most months, and April is probably the hottest month with temperatures reaching 35°C. The summer months see relatively high amounts of rainfall, whilst winters are drier.

Getting There & Around

The main airport serving Tuxtla Gutierrez is the Angel Albino Corzo International Airport located in Chiapa de Corzo, approximately 35km from the city centre. If you are driving, Tuxtla Gutierrez is accessible from two major highways, including the Pan American Highway.There is a first-class bus station serving the city and surrounding region. Cristobal Colon and Rapidos del Sur are the local bus companies. A cheap form of transport is the colectivos, fixed-fee mini-vans or larger vans available throughout the area. Taxis are also available but more expensive.
