To reach these ruins, it is necessary to travel from Mexico City to the small village of San Juan Teotihuacan. Cars and taxis can take more than one road to reach this village, and there are buses which depart the capital every half hour. The ruins are in easy walking distance from the village.
While it is permitted to drive a car around the outskirts of the ruins, walking is the only method of transportation permitted within the site. There are some special wagons that can carry tourists to specific locations inside the ruins and leave them there.
