Nature-lovers will be excited to visit the Estero de San Jose, a peaceful spot with beautiful scenery and opportunities for birdwatching. The lush forests of the Reserva de la Biosfera Sierra de la Laguna (Biosphere Laguna Reserve) cover a 1,124-square kilometre (434-square mile) area of rugged, remote terrain.
San Jose del Cabo also has a historic, colonial atmosphere that is evident in the Plaza Mijares. This plaza is shaded by trees and surrounded by the Mission church, small stores, the town hall and restaurants. For a wonderful walk on the beach, visitors can go to Playa del Nuevo Sol. For those who want to swim or snorkel, the Playa Santa Maria is considered to be one of the best beaches in the Los Cabos area.
When To Go
Located where the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortes meet, San Jose del Cabo has a near-perfect climate with an average temperature of 78°F (26°C). The days are hot and sunny with low humidity; the all-around pleasant climate makes it a favourite destination for beach holidays. Winter temperatures range in the mid-20s Celsius (mid-70s Fahrenheit), whilst summer temperatures stay around 32°C (90°F). There is a very low amount of rainfall every year, and there is usually no rainfall from March until June.

Getting There
You can fly into San Jose del Cabo with one of the many American or Mexican airlines that fly into the Los Cabos International Airport. Taxis and transportation services are available from the airport to your hotel. Since taxis can be expensive, there is also the option of taking authorized shuttle buses. Another option is hiring a car at the airport through one of the well-known rental agencies, including Avis, Budget, National and Hertz. It is best to make your reservations in advance, although this is not required. From the airport, you can reach the Cabo area by car via Highway 1.
