Manzanillo Hotels

Memorable Manzanillo
Manzanillo has its heart in one place and its mind in another. The former beats slowly to the rhythm of the surf, while the latter is firmly commercial. Manzanillo is Mexico’s busiest port city, which can detract from some of the beaches like Playa San Pedrito. ... Read more »
So instead, spend some time in the cultured (in both senses of the word)Museo Universitario de Aquelogia, which presents unique artefacts from the ancient civilisations that stood on these grounds before Corona-chugging surfers came along. Then head to Playa Miramar, the essence of old Manzanillo, where boarders from around the world come to drop in on West Mexico’s best surfing spot. If you like your surrounds clean and green, stick to revamped Malecón. But as long as you steer clear of the ice bucket, a dive-bar tequila will go down a treat wherever you are!

MANZANILLO EVENTS

WHEN TO GO
· Early in the year, the weather is pleasantly warm and the rain clouds tend to stay away.
· December and April are also good cusp months. The nights are still warm enough for just a shirt.
· November is the most humid month. You’ll either need to stay inside or shower after a brief walk.
GETTING AROUND
· Taxis are a great way to get around, but be certain you know your destination in both English and Spanish.
· Buses are a great and reliable way to travel around Manzanillo, especially since a lot of the attractions are quite far apart.
· Be certain you are fully versed in local road rules and traditions before you get behind the wheel of a rental car.
