León is noted fabulous leather goods and subsequently has been dubbed the “shoe capital of the world”, so it is of little wonder that visitors head first to the shopping centres to grab some great deals. Thankfully, a suitcase can hold only so many pairs of shoes because León is home to numerous historical attractions and nature parks that are worth seeing. Air travellers can take a 45-minute connecting flight from Mexico City to León. Driving via the 45D and 57 motorways is possible from Mexico City with a rental car.
There are many taxis with reasonable rates downtown, but most sight-seeing is best done on foot.
