The closest airports are in Mérida (125 km) and Cancún (221 km). Visitors can easily book tourist coaches to Chichen Itza from either city. An airport rental car is another cheap and convenient alternative as well.
The only practical way to get around Chichen Itza is by foot since it is a compact archaeological site. Be sure to wear good shoes and bring sunscreen or a hat.
