The climate of Campeche is warm year round. The average high is nearly 30°C (86°F), even in January. In summer, daytime temperatures can soar to more than 35°C (95°F). Average annual precipitation is only 104 mm (4 inches).
Getting There & Around
The Campeche Airport has daily flights to and from Mexico City. From other destinations, fly into the Merida International Airport. Hire a car to drive to Campeche, or take one of the Autobuses del Oriente.
You can see much of the town’s history on foot as you walk through the small downtown area. Take a bus or taxi to see the sights in the countryside. Taxis are private, but the city operates an inexpensive bus system.
