Favourite Cities and Hotels in Mexico

Mexico's first bona fide resort destination, Acapulco has gone through various cycles of development. Once the premier vacation spot for the jet set Hollywood crowd and the rich and famous post World War II, the city of 715,000 lost ground to Los Cabos, Cancun and Riviera Maya in the international tourist game over the years. What was once old however, is new again, as attempts to revive the region have begun to bear fruit.

As a result, the "Paradise of the Americas" is back, for some at least. Major efforts to clean up the coastal waters and beaches appear to have been successful, as new resorts and hotels spring up with rapid regularity. The near-perfect tropical weather is still Acapulco's hallmark, along with the city's famous and gorgeous semi-circular bay layout. The nightlife is still a popular draw, complete with Senor Frog's of course, as well as golf and water sports.
