Great first class hotel

Overpriced hotel for what you get. The lobby area is nice but the bedrooms are small and dark. It is hard to sleep with the noise as some bedrooms face out onto the canal - with police and other boats driving past continuously through the night. These rooms are very small. Other rooms face out onto a courtyard which is better but the noise from tourists dragging their cases through the alley on the way to their hotels/ the water taxi starts very early in the morning. The bathrooms are fine and breakfast is good. The service at the front desk varies from hostile to passable depending on whom you speak with.

The room is modern and clean. Bathroom is large and first class. I stayed on the top floor and there were renovation works going on. Corridor is not in good order. The hotel locates right on the water-front, very convenient to reach when coming from the railway station.

The hotel has a very romantic atmosphere. Stayed in a room with a lovely view of the lagoon. It is easy to get to and close to the square.
