This is a very walkable location in the Hunter Valley close to wineries, shops, restaurants and the impressive Hunter Valley Gardens. The resort itself is very scenic and well appointed:the resort facilities are great.

Checked in after recepionist got off her mobile. Room key did not work so get another one. Open the door to find someone asleep in the room! It was explained to me that it was probably one of the staff having a sleep between shifts. Hmmmm not good. Got upgraded to a better room. If that was an upgrade I am glad I didn't get my originally booked room. NEVER AGAIN

We stayed for a night and although its cold outside, the air-con was working nicely. The shower facility was great and the room is clean and tidy. Will go back to stay again if in the area!

Rooms clean and well presented. Breakfast service in the restaurant significantly below standard and value of food low. We had a half price breakfst and it wasn't worth even what we paid. Staff not accommodating and providing minimum of service. I was told to find my own cutlery off another table, we weren't shown to a table at all, and my husband's request to refill the muesli was met with 'well, I'll HAVE to go and get it!" instead of 'yes sir, of course!'

We booked this at the last minute and got excellent value, so much so that after paying for it I thought there had to be a catch. There wasn't. The hotel was superbly located, the facilities were excellent and the staff were really accommodating. The 'double shower' as a real surprise

Was not up to a 4.5 star standard: desk staff gave incorrect directions to local event, and don't remove signage for shuttle next day after the event. Breakfast was nice . Do not think tourism in the Hunter does itself many favours as seems to be focused on the $ rather than the hospitality. Can see why locals avoid. Would try to stay elsewhere next time , for similar money and a different experience.

Priviledge rooms are beautiful. Stunning layout, and bed was comfy. Private courtyard was lovely with path out to main path surrounding pool. Friendly service. Central to Hunter Valley Gardens. Only small things were issue, ie; espresso machine didn't work, and phone had no power attachment.

The only downside was a water leak near our car space. Proximity to the gardens, wineries and the village are an advantage.

Unless you're a golfer and planning to use the golf facilities, it's a lot of money for what really feels more like a conference centre. Very big, rather impersonal and sterile. Reasonably good access to the wineries (you'll need a car) and the staff tried very hard to be very helpful. Breakfast was a treat apart from the surly egg-station staff. We wouldn't go back.

I would say - overpriced, there was some spiderweb on the ceilings, the staff is not helpful, fell like thye want to be somewhere else but not there and you are just annoying them by your presence, in general was not impressed at all. Expectations did not match the reality...

We stayed 2 nights and our room wasn't made up the whole time we were there. The bathroom had cobwebbs, and the basin area was dirty. However the location is excellent because its so close to everything else. The reception staff were very friendly too.
