Mercure Paris Gare De L Est Magenta Hotel Paris
4.4 out of 5

Not very good noise insulation to the outside, difficult to get a good night sleep with the noise from the street.

Technical defect in the bathroom. TV below standard. Skyhigh deposit for use of in-room safe box. No flexibility: when partner could not come because of illness the hotel refused a payback for not-used breakfast (should be 10 euro).

Hotel is a 5 min walk from Gare d'lst station which makes travelling by metro convenient. However, taking a wrong turn on the streets around the hotel could lead you into a dodgy area. No attractions within walking distance but eateries located nearby.

Room very small but clean. Corridor very narrow. Hotel very close to Gare du Nord and Gare d'lest. Easy access to city via Metro at Gare d'lest.

Friendly staff; room not big, but adequate; fine bathroom. Buffet breakfast copious if you want. Very conveniently located near Gare du Nord and Gare de l'Est in a small and quiet, but not immediately findable, street off the busy Boulevard Magenta. If you like to walk and explore, like we do, it's 10-15 interesting minutes from the Centre Pompidou/Halles area. Otherwise metro 3 mins away.

Room and facilities were good. The stairs and corridors a bit shabby, but the staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming. Location excellant for the northern and eastern station and for metro. A pleasant budget hotel.

We chose the hotel due to its closeness to both Gare du Nord and Gare de l'Est, and it is only a short walk from both. The hotel itself is tucked down an alley, which means that it does not have very good views from the windows, however the found our room to be both large in size, and well decorated. The staff were friendly and helpful. Overall the hotel was clean, well positioned for our needs, and well priced. We will definately consider staying there again.

I would like to say that the hotel is very close to Gare de L'est, an important subway station. The area is clean and not dangerous. The hotel seemed to be recently renovated and the rooms were just perfect! The breakfast was always the same but fresh, varied and enough. They really treated me very nice and helped me each time I asked them.

Great location on a quiet street handy to both Gare du Nord and Gare du Est train stations. Our twin room was a bit on the small side but otherwise a very pleasant clean and friendly hotel to stay in.

I was pleasantly surprised by the friendly welcome and the nice, clean room and bathroom. As I travel by train to Paris the location is very good, just some steps away from Gare de l'Est. Breakfast was good. Recommend this hotel - good, clean and warm place to sleep.

We went with our family of 4 persons (2 adults, 2 children) in a quadriple room. Perfect. Simple but good breakfast, room, service etc. 3 minutes walking from Gare de l'Est, Metro and Busses and 7 minutes from Gare du Nord. Kind and English speaking receptionists. Shops in the neighbourhood. We had a perfect time (also) thanks to the Flora Hotel.
