We stayed at the Mercure as we were doing a balloon flight and had to met at the Sofitel at 5.15am. the next morning As we arrived at the Mercure we got a call the balloon ride was cancelled, so we ended up taking in a few sights of the city, it is really close to everything and a tram stop was within a few minutes walk. We also dined at there restaurant for dinner and was pleased we did , the menu was basic and limited due to renovations, but the food was good ,along with the waiters who help turn the evening into a pleasant one. The room was a good size and clean , the facilities were good. We would go back again. Jeff & Teresa Antcliff

Excellent position, reception and staff. Early check-in was not passed on but staff immediately upgraded us to a great room. Breakfast manager extremely pleasant and helpful. Would recommend.

I had an enjoyable stay at the Mecure although having a room next to the service lift meant being woken at 5 am each morning. I would stay at the hotel again however would ask for a room away from the lifts. I ate room service a few nights I was there - the food was excellent!

The location is the best part as the tram stop is almost outside the front door.

The location and the restaurant at this hotel were what we enjoyed. The meal was fine and the view across to the gardens added to a pleasant stay in Melbourne. It was close to the theatre and we were able to leave early the next morning for the airport with no problems getting to our car.
