Mercure London Kensington Hotel
3 out of 5

When we arrived at the hotel, it was promising. The location is great and the reception area was nice with a comfortable bar area. The lady that checked us in was friendly and helpful. Then we got to the room. The room is very small and not comfortable in the slightest. However it was clean. Aside from the woman that checked us in, the staff were very unfriendly and at times rude. I can't say I enjoyed my stay there and will definitely not stay again.

The location is really great. Just a few minutes walk to the tube - taking you directly to Heathrow airport - all terminals. Just a few bus stops away from The National History Museum, V&A Museum, Harrods and Hyde Park. The staff was really friendly and cleanliness was great. Full breakfast is worthy. However, the room was quite small - we barely fit our suitcases next to the bed. We have to jump over them to reach the bathroom. The bed was also small. Not suitable for a long stay, but for a few days wandering the shops and pubs - it was great!

An ideal hotel for a short break. The room was small but perfectly formed and not too far from the tube. Comfy bed and a good nights sleep was had. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We were room only basis but used the Patisserie opposite the Gloucester Road tube station for a good breakfast. Would stay at this hotel again and would recommend to friends.

Hotel was clean and comfortable - the room was a decent size for London. Tea and coffee facilities available and they were happy to deliver fresh milk. The hotel is in an excellent position - a couple of blocks from Gloucester station, which takes you to Paddington if you need to catch the Heathrow Express. Laundromat nearby but it costs a fortune. Plenty of restaurants nearby but none that are reasonably priced. Pre book a taxi if you need one - we couldn't hail a taxi in the street.

If anything the room was a little cramped for two friends but no other complaints.Breakfast was good and served in a very pleasant dining room. Location was excellent, away from the crowds but within easy reach of everything. I will definately stay again.

Excellent location and helpful staff, the room and bathroom were a reasonable size. The breakfast was quite basic and not worth the charge if paying seperately - there are plenty of cafes nearby.

A very good hotel with good value for money. May not be close to any shopping district or tourist attraction, but it is only 5 mins walk from Earl's Court underground station, which can lead you to anywhere in London. Great facilities as well as friendly and helpful service from the staffs.

The size of the Rooms is Pathetict. It is so small that when you put the ironing board up your partner needs to stand in the hall! The walls are so thin you can here every word spoken next door. Suggest you turn the TV up!!!

Hotel was very clean and tidy, room rather small, but acceptable.Pillows and towels very cheap. Very disappointed with the continental breakfast as in not too much to choose from. The bare necessities I would say.Choice of fruit was grapefruit, prunes, tinned peaches each day as were the yoghurts, same flavours each day.Rolls were just soft rolls, no choice of breads etc.Tea and coffee were also something to be desired, so overall a poor effort.Choice of meats were piled up on one small plate, in with these were the garlicky ones which went onto the ham I had.One choice of cheese which looked like the kraft slices.

Generally good but the smallest 'double' room we have ever stayed in - we generally pay less and get a much better room.

Excellent hotel for the price. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms on the small size for Australian standards but they are very clean and nicely decorated. Central to the tube stations, internet cafe and launderette if needed. Would recommend a stay here

Room was very small but clean. Quiet hotel by London standards. Only bar meals available in evening, not cheap and not that appetising either. Reasonable breakfast - for additional payment - however.

Must have a rental car to stay at this hotel. Rooms have a small refrigerator and microwave, but no sink - must go to another floor to wash dishes. Instant coffee and tea are provided for a couple of days, then you have to buy your own. England does not have artificial sweeteners available except at the grocer's.
