Mercure Leicester City Hotel

Good location, near shopping restaurants and pubs.

I had often considered staying at the hotel having used the bar and restaurant when I was in Leicester. The restaurant, bar and reception areas are fine and the staff could not be friendly and helpful. The bad bit is that the room was unbearably hot and with no AC and windows that only open a few inches there was no way to get the heat out. We even kept the curtains drawn during the day but there was no way to deal with the problem. As far as the bed the mattress was noisy and old.

Location and Grand Building though the bedrooms & bathrooms are a little small. Good stay though.

Stayed at the Mercure on Saturday night, location etc were fantastic but the bed and the size of the room were terrible!

Great last minute bargain - this site saved me £25 on same deal. Ignore SATNAV for last 250 yards, and follow brown signs round one-way system. Mega cheap overnight / onsite parking. Breakfast simple, but good. Rooms tidy and clean - even one on the front on a saturday night was quiet. Just a little wait for night porter to let us back in after attending a late night wedding party. Will use again

A great warm welcome from the reception staff. Enjoyed my short stay. Fantastic location in the city centre with ampel parking. One negative very thin walls, noise from next room and people walking past did wake me during the night and early in the morning.

Very central and good car park at £5 per day. We had some time to kill and used the hotel as a base to see the "sights of Leicester" Ok, it's not a tourist town but it has some interesting bits. Would recommend this hotel.

The front of the hotel overlooked a pedestrian precinct and bars but none of the windows had double glazing. It was incredibly noisy all through the night even on the 3rd floor. I called reception to see if we could change rooms but they claimed all the rooms were already booked. Apart from that everything else in the hotel was fine.

On checking out none of the staff had any knowledge of the prepayment voucher system and they tried to bill me again. I was kept waiting for 15 minutes whilst staff tried to find someone who knew how to process the voucher. Eventually I left them to sort it out themselves

Excellent Location, right in the centre of Leicester, but overall I was a little disappointed considering it's four star hotel.

Room service non existent. I guess the stay wasn;t helped by a fire alarm in the middle of the night, but room service was shocking, they didn't have a record of my booking through [your website] and i was lucky enough to get the LAST roome they had. An interesting stay!
