Mercure Inverness Hotel
3 out of 5

We wanted a hotel close to the train station and the Mercure is well placed for that. The building was formally another older hotel and it has been given the Mercure makeover and it is successful on the whole. Room had very narrow entrance and it was hard to get in but the view of the river was lovely. Free carpark around the back, through the one way system but it was pretty full when we were there. Our room was near the lifts and entrance doors to the floor and it was quite noisy so ask for a room further along the corridor. On the whole it was fine for what we wanted.

Great location if travelling by train. Restaurants, Pubs and Clubs on the doorstep. Rooms clean and quiet. Great to have the spa to relax after trailing round all the shops and a good hangover cure in the morning. Great views of the river Ness and accessible from the rear entrance for a nice stroll.

Well positioned in the city. The experience was fine without being anything special.

Great hotel and staffs and location but the a little disappointed with the size of the bathroom. Nevertheless the bedroom was very big and has a separate sofabed and big enough for a cot bed and perfect view of the River Ness from our room and the bar.

We stayed on a Friday and Saturday night and our room faced the street - the windows and walls do not block out much of the noise from the streets below. Excellent location!

The Room was warm (if a little shabby), the bed was comfortable, the water was hot (although the mildew on the ceiling was a little worrying!) and the breakfast was ok. What let this hotel down was the utterly dreadful service! The lady who cleaned my room was lovely, but the bar, resturant and front desk staff were not just difficult they were downright rude in some cases. The resturant food was horrid, if you have to stay here I would recommend the "Staging Post" pud for great service and excellent food.

The hotel could not be more centrally located for the city. The staff were all very helpful and the room was just what you would expect

Cold water tap in bath/shower didn't work. Not very pleasant as water was hot! Didn't look as if it had just happened. Had no one else reported this? Receptionist in the morning said she would arrange to get it sorted. Otherwise good value for such a central location. Will go back.

We requested a cot and a camping cot was supplied with the nicest baby bedding etc. It was excellent.

Centrally situated in Inverness. The food in the restaurant is excellent. Rooms are standard for a hotel mostly used by business people.

We stayed at 7 different hotels while holidaying in Scotland & this was by far the best. Great room, beautiful view & the most wonderfully pleasant & helpful front desk staff. Claire went out of her way to assist us with a problem & we greatly appreciated it. We will certainly go back.
