40 degress outside, room has no A/C. Temp inside 50 degrees. Great way to spend the 27th Anniversary! Not Happy Jane.

Recently stayed @ Hobart central apartments (hotel behind Hadleys - but uses same check in desk & accessed through same entrance). Centrally located (<700mtrs uphill from Constitution dock and salamanca market and <400mts from main CBD. Apartment is modern, well appointed, large living room. Kitchenette has a dishwasher, mini fridge and microwave only. Shower over bath, but need to highjump the edge of the bath (bath is quite high on the sides). As others have written on the internet parking behind the hotel is $15per night + c/card fee if paying by card (didn't have an issue with tightness of carpark as others have written - drive a camry) and if carpark is full, park along the wall (was the case on Saturday night). Gay friendly (saw several gay couples staying there). Only downside is Hobart CBD has a lot of one way streets so have to do a few right turns to get around the back. Also housekeeping kept forgetting to stock towels and shampoos/ soaps. Housekeeping manager kept blaming the casuals, but I blame lack of training and supervision by houskeeping management. We ended up stealing a stash from the housekeeping trolley/store room to keep our stocks full (easier to stock ourselves). Guests should learn not to let the self closing room front doors bang shut. Even in peakhour you can be majorly out of Hobart within 15 mins down the Huon or to Kings Meadows

Very comfortable room. Cold time of year and heating worked well. Also could open windows easily for fresh air. Helpful staff and nice restaurant. Good value express breakfast choice

Hotel could do with some maintenance. Room overlooked dining area which is bad for a sleep in, far to noisy. Television reception was very bad. Asked for this to be looked at which did not happen. Room was spacious with nice furniture and very clean. Would try somewhere different next time.

The room was very clean although the bathroom was a little small. The staff were very helpful and the location is good being a short walk to nearby restaurants and Salamanca square. It was a little disconcerting to discover that the bed was not level nor the rest of the furniture, but this is part of the old world charm of the hotel which retains its original character.

Even though this is a very old hotel the service and location make it a great place to stay when visiting Hobart

Lovely 'olde world' atmosphere. Room was quite a good size and comfortable. Can be a little noisy at times if window faces street (pub next door) or overlooks the breakfast atrium (setting up). Obliging service.

This was a great old hotel. Its history was especially interesting. The location was excellent.

The hotel was great, but the street noise from cars and a night club, which was open until about 3 or 4am, were a disaster.

This hotel is in a great location and is within a very easy walk to the city centre and shopping and consitution dock and salamanca. The hotel is old and full of old charm. Rooms clean with nice decor. Bathroom a bit on the dated side but no drama. Would stay here again purely for location and convenience. A solid 8/10 from me for this one.

This was a lovely hotel and in a great location about 10-15 minutes walk from Salamanca area. Unfortunately it let itself down by charging $25 for breakfast and similarly inflated rates for evening meals. I would only recommend staying here if you don't mind walking to a cafe or restaurant for food.
