Mercure Cheltenham Queen's Hotel
3 out of 5

This is a stately hotel with the pros and cons that go with that. It's clean and functional but it is old so creaky and a little tired. Our room was tiny and Internet connection is complicated and slow. It's centrally located on the wonderful Promenade and surrounded by nice shops and restaurants as well as beautiful gardens and classic buildings.

The waitng-on service was especially poor, on of our rooms, designated "family" was too small and generally not appropriate

Very friendly and efficient staff even if some of the guests were bullying boors. Delightful period building tastefully brought up to date.

Very well situated above the promenade, this grand old lady of Cheltenham hotels continues to adapt to the modern world with an effective makeover of the restaurant and the adjacent Patit Blanc Bistro.

Quick, helpful and very cheerful service. An excellent location right in the middle of Cheltenham and close to the upmarket Montpelier area. Sufficient parking. One of our favourite hotels. Jann and Tony Tucker

The hotel rooms were well decorated with good facilities and cleanliness. The location of the hotel is ideal for shopping or a trip into the heart of Cheltenham's nightlife. The restaurant within the hotel offers a wonderful array of dishes which are cooked beautifully to perfection and the wine list provides a delicious choice of wines to compliment the meals featured on the menu. All in all, a wonderful hotel to stay in, whether it's just for one night or for longer.

Queens hotel was a friendly hotel, the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The location is lovely being in the centre and the rooms was clean and comfortable, unfortunelty the mini bar was empty and so could not have been enjoyed. This would have been a nice touch and I would recommend that the mini bar is full and avilable.Otherwise very nice indeed and good value for money
