Check-in and check out was a breeze. The staff were friendly and make me feel welcome. The Vue restaurant is a very nice place to have dinner and drinks. The waiting staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room is OK. The slight issue was the old rickety chair in my room which needs a bit fixing. Also I would recommend the hotel management to invest some sound proofing materials in the rooms. Because throughout the night, I kept hearing noises within and from outside of the hotel. For example I can hear the road works at the intersection at night a block away. Guests talking rather loudly on the corridors and rooms. Also the guests going in and out of their rooms slamming the doors rather loudly which is a bit annoying when you try to get some rest.

Central location on Auckland Wharf is the best feature of this hotel. Internet connection is not free, and the cost to purchase the service are ridiculously high. Rooms are not big but quite comfortable. Overall good value for money

The best thing about this hotel is the location Perfectly positioned near the wharf in Queens Street, close to Britomart and and public transportation The rooms are decent and spacious enough, nothing fancy but the beds are quite comfortable Not a luxury hotel but it serves the purpose of having a cost effective accommodation in city center

We chose The Mercure for locality. The midweek noise from the street was hard to sleep through. The bedrooms was a bit tired and in need of renovation. But everything was clean and tidy. The onsite Vue Restaurant was the best, with an amazing view of the Harbour. Would stay there again

Great ocation fo my business requirements - good value - comnfortable but rooms are getting a little worn looking - e.g. tile grouting in bathroon need a scrub and wear and tear caused by trundler bags is showing a buit miore than it should. I was there on business and it suited me OK but visitors from abroad might be a littl more critical than I was. $40 per night car parking is a bit over the top in comparison to other establishments.

The hotel has a fantastic location. Period. The rooms are cramped. The amenities are well past their best buy date. The management seems out to screw every last cent out of customers ($15 minimum charge for up to 2 hours internet connection; $40/day parking; etc.). The staff are friendly and do what they can. This could have been a great hotel. Alas.

Friendly staff but the place is tired. Toilet didn't flush and although they were told about it, nothing was done. Hot water came out of the cold taps for the first 10 seconds - never seen that before. Great location, shame about the water problems.

A chinese guy at the front desk was very kind and answered my questions nicely. However, something was different to the description which said there would be one queen sized bed in the room but actually two single beds were put together in the room so that it looks like a queen sized bed.

Great location. Nice large room but very noisy lifts that sound like a gale force wind is blowing through the building

A little disappointed as room was pretty ordinary and tired looking. Needs a good revamp and more attention to detai. Little things like blown light bulbs etc. But on the positive side, a great location, straight out the front doors to the CBD and the harbour. Good place to stay for one night in transit.l

Found the hotel easily enough, but where do we put the car? After several trips around the block, double parked car and ran in to get help, parked in a tiny area that was already full. Not at all impressed with $40 for valet parking. I recommend checking out Vector Arena parking block two blocks away, much cheaper. Room was clean but average. The noise from the lifts was very annoying. Didnt appreciate my visa getting charged for a $38 bottle of wine which I did not consume, after a phone call it was rectified. (Just glad I checked my visa bill)

We were very happy with our stay. Initially we were allocated a room that we were not that happy with so without any fuss we were moved to the one overlooking the harbour that we had booked and it was super. Staff were very obliging
