The Mercure Antwerpen Centrum Opera Hotel is excellently located in the old town centre, behind the terraces of the Keyserlei and the Meir shopping street. Only 500 metres away from the central station, the hotel is close to places like the Zoo, the Diamond museum, House of Justice and the Beguinage.

Hotel is old, but well located with walking distance to old city and shopping street. Reception is very friendly. Room is spacious.

We arrived at midnight and the staff was exceptionally friendly, room was clean, did get a smoking room which was not so great since we confirmed a non smoking. Breakfast was average, but a good selection to choose from. We paid a special price which make this great, but if we had to pay normal price I would be disapointed. I won't say it is up to 4* Standards

Not really 4 star, but very good 3 star tourist hotel. Big business room, decent breakfast and nice and friendly people at the reception. And good little thai joint on the corner ! Would stay there again due to the price.

On the plus side: Residence Hotel was nice, clean and the staff was very helpful, great breakfast. On the negative side: Hotel is a little out-dated, neighborhood isn't the best, and it smelled smokey (welcome to Europe!). In all a decent hotel and I would recommend it for those who aren't looking for a "five star" experience.
