Melia Braga Hotel And Spa Guest Reviews
There are very few things that i could knock at this hotel. The staff are so attentive, the rooms are the best "standard" rooms i have ever stayed in - more like suites in their level of comfort - and the spa facilities are AMAZING! We ate at the restaurant and had drinks at the bar - again the staff were great - very attentive - and the quality was excellent as well. The dinner was served as a buffet and the range and quality of the food was exceptional. The only fault i would put is that obviously, in a city like Braga where you can get good quality food at such bargain prices, the meals and the drink i felt were very overpriced compared to eating and drinking in the city - obviously you would expect to pay more at a hotel, but the difference in price was extreme. But this is minor, because if you don't want to eat and drink there you have plenty of other choices. The only other fault i would put, which is again very minor, is that it would have been nice - seeing as you have to pay to access the spa facilities - to be given certain things (e.g. they demand you wear a swimming cap - which is usually not necessary in other places - so they should give you this complementary as they cost over 3 euros each!) and it would have been nice to be given a robe and proper (non-slip) slippers as well as the towel they give you - some people seemed to be given it, but we were not, so i'm not sure what the selection criteria is - perhaps you need to buy a treatment as well as access to the facilities? Overall, i highly recommend this hotel. It is the most relaxing and comfortable hotel i have ever stayed in. And given the room rate we paid, i felt that it was good value for money for the room. The only concerns are that they are (in my view) charging excessively for food and drinks and not supplying certain things in the spa.
