I have stayed here twice in the last 2 weeks. Very friendly and perfect if you just need somewhere to crash after a big night out on the town.

What you pay is what you get, its a cheap backpackers in bad need of repair. the location is good, but for a little more you could go to a cleaner place.

Right in the backpacker district of Sydney, great Thai restaurant next door open till late. Excellent value meals at the corner pub, short walk to Central Station and Chinatown. Will stay there again.

Customer service was great. Is in a heritage building, so does come across a bit decrepit, and the lack of powerpoints in the rooms was a bit inconvenient. Our room was directly off the games room, so was a bit noisier than I guess another room may have been. Excellent location. All told, for the price and allowing it IS a backpackers, it was fine.

Could not find my reservation and nearly had to pay twice to be checked in. Very very basic facilities, even by backpackers standards. NO POWER POINTS IN ROOMS, you need to charge phones etc at the front desk. Kitchen and common areas always very busy and saturday nights very noisy. No heating.

Staff, friendly and helpful, facilities clean, showers where the only bad thing, no water pressure, and you had to shower under a dribble of water

The hotel was literally like a jail cell. There was a mattress on a bed frame and thats it in the room. I've stayed at hostels before but for the price of this place was ridiculous. In the ladies room their is no sanitary bins - so u can only imagine what I seen. Do yourself a favour and do not choose this hotel. Although staff were friendly.

This is not my usual choice of accommodation. Unfortunately I booked attendance at a seminar in Sydney not realising it was the weekend of the Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras. My choice for central accommodation was at the extremes: backpacker or inflated 5* hotel rates. I had a double room to myself. Three complaints: the room looked nothing like the advertised room, other guests were very noisy and there was no powerpoint in the room. Staff were generally helpful and cheerful.

The rooms are very different. Some have outlets, some not. I had a ceiling fan. There is quite a bit of noise from the common rooms. There is a direct shuttle to the airport for $12. Wireless internet does not reach all rooms, but they have several computers in the lobby.

Very basic room bed and side table only, not even a power point! Location was good though and no noise due to the solid brick walls.

Whilst this is a two star rated backpackers, I have been in much better places. When we checked in the music was loud and a overseas couple next to me struggling with english couldnt make themselves heard. I was not told that I would require two keys each with a deposit of $20 each. They did not supply a towel. This cost me $5 hire and $10 deposit. The showers were sticky and grimy. the room did not even have a power point. The toilets early the next morning were dirty. It looked like someone had walked in mud and then on a wet floor you can imagine what it was like. The sheets were clean - one positive! Overall I would never consider this an option again. There are many other backpacking facilities that are 100% better. I hope that the feedback is of some help. PS I am not a young customer however this shouldn't be an issue.

There are no plug sockets in the rooms, just 2 on each corridoor. The toilets are very dirty and all the (few) showers were in very bad states with big holes in them all so you are in plain veiw of eachother. No iron avail, microwave out of order and fridges had mouldy food in. The cleaning lady was simply wiping the sinks with a dirty old towel she had just used in the toilet. No cleaning products were used, floors were not mopped. Staying at this place is NOT recommended under any circumstances.

I stayed in a room next to the main eating area and it was so noisy! People were walking past (or should I say running and screaming all hours of the night) past my room. I got no sleep whatsoever...Lucky I only stayed for 1 night. If you're like me who prefer private bathroom then I would recommend paying a little bit extra and stay in a cheap hotel..
