Mayang Sari Beach Resort Bintan Guest Reviews
On the whole satisfactory. Our first room was damp and didn't smell very good so we paid extra to be moved to a sea view unit, which was much better. The resort is showing its age and maintenance does not seem to be part of their routine of keeping the place looking presentable. The roof needs to be resheeted and there is evidence of leaks. The staff are friendly enough and the food reasonable but expensive by Singapore standards.

Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at this resort that we returned again. Staying in beachfront resort was so therapeutic as we could look out of the glass window and door to gaze at the sea and sky, in the comfort of an air-con hut :) And wifi internet access was complimentary! Breakfast was not a huge spread but was enough for us; and we enjoyed the spice restuarant ambience - less hustle and bustle than the bigger restuarants of bigger resorts. Being part of the larger Nirwana Group also meant we could walk to sister resorts and enjoy the facilities there eg swimming pool and other restuarants.

Initial first impressions were that the bungalow was a little rundown but the location was superb, room was clean and staff were very friendly. It was nice to be away from the busy resort but still be able to use the facilities if you felt like it. We loved the open air restauraunt.

The place was lovely and peasceful. I would recommend it over the nirwana hotel which is a sister hotel if you just want a quiet relaxing holiday. The rooms are getting a bit old now and the food could be improved but overall i would return for a couple of days.

A lovely place to chill out. The beach is lovely, and right in front of the chalets (pay for the sea view - it's worth it!), and the staff work very hard to keep it clean and debris-free. At night you can hear the waves even with the doors and windows shut - really nice. There's a sea sports centre so you can go jet-skiing, windsurfing, etc. The swimming pool and other facilities are not at the Mayang Sari itself, but they're within the larger Nirwana complex and there's a shuttle bus that takes you around. The Spice Restaurant does good Indonesian and Indian food, and the buffet breakfast lived up to expectations. The room is simply furnished and clean - a bit tired-looking, but that was fine with me. Don't go expecting anything near luxury and you won't be disappointed. A big plus was the wireless internet in the room. My only gripe is that the bathroom is due for some reno - it's clean, but a bit primitive (and the tap didn't work too well!) for the price.
