Maxima Irbis Hotel Moscow
4 out of 5

Although,we only stayed one night,we were pleasantly surprised with our room, which was bright and clean, and our bathroom was of very good standard.Staff were friendly and helpful. The Hotel is situated in 'green-zone';our room was facing a small birch forest. We did not use the Metro, which is nearby, and only 5 or 6 stops from the Moscow Centre.Recommended.

This hotel does not validate immigaration card, if you stay only one night. Not suitable for foreign vistiors.

This hotel did not provide registration stamp for immigration card. Their excuse: I stayed only one night. I will stay another hotel next time.

The Hotel is located in a clam area, only 5-10 miniute walk to Metro station. Breakfast served here is very good in the small resturant. It is better than I thought. Food and beverage in mini-stores surrounding in the area are reasonably cheap. It is a good place to stay if you plan to use Metro extensively. It is worth to stay here if you can ignore the chilling personality of some hotel staff.

Quite nice hotel for this category in Russia. Price is outrageous as in all hotels in Moscow. Stayed in business room which has more space than standard. Bed was a disappointment but otherwise the room was o.k. Same breakfast every day and nothing special. I think adequate for three star hotel in Russia.

Friendly staff and nice room - would stay there if I were ever to visit Moscow again . Location not really a problem if you use the Metro.

Female reception staff sensationally good (and I have lived and worked in Moscow, so I do not use this description lightly) - proactive, resourceful, v. smart ladies; to make up for it, one of the blokes there was appalling and the cleaning staff just didn't dust - or vacuum clean half the time - I assume they don't expect somebody to stay there more than a few days, so just clean before a new guest arrives.

This is our second time at the Irbis, and we would not hesitate to return again. The rooms are clean, the food is very good and the staff is courteous and very helpful. The dinning room was being repaired during our most recent stay, but the food and service from the conference room was just as excellent. While the location seems to baffle the taxi drivers coming from Sheremetyevo (figure 1-1/2 to 2 hours drive time), it is near a metro station and major bus stop, if you don't mind a 5-minute walk. Don't expect a pool, valet service or an international menu, but this is a good, solid 3-star hotel, and a bargain at that.

Neat and clean, with limited amenities. Certain items (hairdryer, iron) available on request. One restaurant and food was pretty good. Very hard time getting incoming phone calls from outside the country. Nothing short of a flea market nearby.

I have really no complaints to speak of concerning Irbis Moscow. It would be very handy if they supplied a detailed map of how to reach the metro and advise how to exit it (I got out and walked the wrong way so have to pay a fare to get back into the metro to get out at the exit for the hotel. Signage in the Metro is lacking). The hotel description should state which airport it is 30 minutes from - on arrival it took me over 2 hours to get to the hotel in a taxi and this was after midnight. The staff ewre very helpful and had great English.

Hotel staff is very helpful and speaks good English. The facilities are good with excellent breakfast. Location is outside the city, however, the metro station is very close. We had a pleasant stay. USA
