Balaclava Climate
Balaclava has a tropical climate with a wet and a dry season and consistent temperatures throughout the year. Highs range from 26-30°C, and lows range 12-15°C. The dry season spans from May to October with temperatures on the lower end of that scale, while the warmer, wetter months of November to April make up the cyclone season.
Getting There & Around
The main airport is the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport located in Plaisance, about 38 km away. If you rent a vehicle, be sure to get full coverage and remember to drive on the left side of the road.
Balaclava has an efficient, inexpensive bus system that travels all over the island, but most visitors rent bicycles or motorbikes to travel around the villages. The more built-up areas have taxis as well.
