Normally we aren't one to complain. However the beds are super uncomfortable, the pillows need replacing, and on top of a bad night sleep the air con is extremely loud. There are no facilities to cook at all.... not even a bbq. I asked the reception if I could borrow a couple of glasses so we could have a glass of wine and we were turned down, but they did offer a bottle opener.

The hotel was great for what we wanted, which was an inexpensive place to stay when we flew in late so we did not have to drive to West Maui after 10PM. The room was perfectly comfortable with a nice view of the yard. We could take our time the next morning and walk around the mall across the street before checking out and going on to our next hotel. I certainly recommend this place for a quick stopover, though I think the location on a very busy road would not make for a great longer stay than a couple of nights. There is actually a small beach in back of the hotel, but the water is generally too murky for any snorkeling. Sitting there and reading however is lovely and you hear the waves as much as the traffic in front of the building.

Conveniently located near Kahului airport, easy to find. Open courtyard, on the beach, with a green park next door. Free parking. Secure. Nice staff. Good Coconut Grill cafe across the park at the Maui Seaside Hotel (Maui Beach Hotel is the better of the two). Air conditioned. Bring your own toiletries. Good base location if you're going up country, to Haleakala, or out the Hana road, or want to stock up before heading out to a more far-flung resort. Near Maui Mall and the big lot stores: Costco, KMart, etc. "Deluxe" room was pleasant, clean, and everything worked., Convenience and good value. We recommend it and will stay again.

Stayed for 2 nights and it was a great place to base our sightseeing from. Not too far from the airport and shopping, and easy access to the main tourist drives. Hotel was well presented, right on the beach, and quiet. Room was very nice and beds were comfy. Happy to stay there again if ever the chance arose.

Great staff and friendly clean atmosphere. If you are here for the kiteboarding and surfing it is a great location with the beaches and shops close.

Great Location - close to airport, malls and shopping center. The hotel is located in central Maui, made it a perfect pit stop for day trips to Lahaina, Hana, and Kihei. and Haleakala.

hotel was great- but couldnt get a free room upgrade seeing that the better rooms had a balcony.bottom rooms need an outside door access just like the top rooms to let scenery in other than through a cloudy window.hotel staff could of been alittle more friendly and younger (being it's hawaii) and need an upgraded seperate gift stop. i think they would benefit from the sales through that than the local stores stealing the profits.a variety of simple items would help.hotel needs BETTER internet sevrice that has access that doesnt keep kicking you off (expand the free wifi). hotel needs to have 24hr pool access and beaches needed cleaning.hotel needs more things to attract hotel guest to come outside and stay around the hotel more.other than that excellent first time trip and stay.would and will definatly go again.

Loved the location but the carpet was dirtier than I am used to. Had to wear slippers in the room because feet was getting dirty. But it's a good location, secured area. Would go back again.

stayed here last year, and decided to come back again,as the comfort was good.A nice view, nice staff members.they make you feel like family. In fact I met a cousin that was a security guard. The shuttle to the airport was a welcome perk;) I will make this motel my home away from home whenever I'm on Maui.

Staff was friendly. Across the street from a large mall. I would only recommend for a couple of nights. Furnishings are meager, but $ does include breakfast

Very Close to the airport, rooms were clean and comfortable, lots of space. Staff was great, very personable, very helpful! food was good. The only down side I could find was the Hawaii prices overall. But knowing that prices are just normally high in Hawaii, this was a good hotel.

I have never had a bad experiance here. I have stayed at this hotel several times for work. When my office booked me at another hotel I refused and asked them to put me at the Maui Beach Hotel. It is a clean, safe place with friendly staff and a convenient location.

I loved the hotel but being on my honeymoon, the location was far from all of the nice activities and restaurants. The hotel was nice enough to give us shuttle service but its only within 5 miles of the hotel.

I stayed here with a friend of mine for one week. We were looking for a cheap place to stay just the nights as we rented a car to go around Maui. The hotel is perfect if you travel like this. The stuff is friendliy and welcoming. And staying in Kahului is great as you are close to supermarkets.. and don´t need to take a long drive to go to the other beautiful corners of the island. The Hotel is clean and safe. They have washers and a nice little pool (for those who don´t wanna go to the amazing beaches) the included shuttle was a great thing to have too. And their driver was super friendly! I really enjoyed my stay there and would recommend it to a friend!!! ALOHA!

We stayed for one night. Renting a car was the best thing because we went to Paia for dinner. Breakfast at the hotel was good. Not a fancy place.

[...] I will never stay here again. This is one instance where I would have preferred to stay at a chain hotel. That night I was woken up to the owner pounding on one of the outer doors for 20 minutes and the following night my electricity went out for several hours. The owners made an attempt at an apology on my second day stating that they have had problems with cheap tickets before, (not my problem however.)I am very disappointed with my experience and would have gone to another hotel if I had the option. The facility itself is very charming.

Everything about this hotel is substandard including the old, uncomfortable bed, tacky furnishings, noisy airconditioner and cheap linens. But the worse part is the attitude of the front desk staff. During my unexpected 4 day stay there while a relative was hospitalized down the street, I never once encountered an efficient, friendly, courteous or professional staff member. My reservations were repeatedly lost so I was forced to relocate to another room several times. I had purchased several perishable items to take to my hospitalized relative, which were promptly stolen out of the refrigerator in my room by the housekeeping staff. No apologies or restitution was offered, I couldn't even get the Manager to return my calls! It was noisy at night in the rooms and hallways and a large group of men were loitering in the parking lot late one night. I did not feel safe at all. And what hotel these days does not have free coffee on the premises. The Maui Beach does not offer it in the room or even in the lobby. However, you are allowed to purchase a cup from the front desk staff if you are lucky enough to get their attention behind the counter. This place is a rip off in more ways than one. If you do stay here, I recommend you don't leave anything that you mind having stolen from your room while you are out.
