The very best thing of this hotel is its location. You can't get a better location in Hualien. It's right at all places one can walk to and meters away from a market. The hotel is old and the bathrooms seem old and the food is good enough, but nothing special. If ever I have to go back to Hualien, I will stay there again and again, for its service and location.

The hotel is not easy to find, if you cannot read Chinese. The room was very nice, with a cute round window. Try the rich dinner buffet! At breakfast (only until 9 am), it was very crowded (OK, it was around Chinese New Year) with unfriendly waitresses. But, altogether, we felt quite comfortable in this hotel.

We were upgraded to a 2 x double bed room, which was spacious and comfortable for 3 adults and a child. Good location, just a few steps away from the bustling shopping district. staffs are friendly and helpful, value for money

This is by no means an international 4 star hotel, it could use a renovation. If you are in Hualien for a night or two it could be OK if you get a good rate. Don't expect too much though...
