Marriott Marquis Hotel New York
4 out of 5

We found the Marriott Marquis to be amazingly efficient considering the large volume of people accommodated. The food offered in several venues was well prepared, delicious, and of a surprising variety. The elevators were less than efficient. They apparently became over loaded and periodically wouldn't operate. This was a little disconcerting because our room was on the forty-second floor. All in all, Our stay was more than satisfactory and we will re-book next time we arrive for a theater week. Sincerely, Carol Craig Sigler

Right in the middle of town, and remarkably quiet in the rooms. Great for shopping, and also close to all good restaurants around 9th Avenue.

Very big hotel with lots of people at this time of year! Service at bar on 8th floor was very slow. Rooms were spacious and comfortable - sheets were soooo soft! Enjoyed the coffee maker in the room. We had the buffet on the 48th floor revolving restaurant/lobby and highly recommend it for a great view of the city! Reception, concierge, and restaurant waiters were pleasant and helpful. If you don't like huge hotels with many elevators and lots of people, don't come here. Otherwise, I would highly recommend it for the location and comfort.

The staff was very accessible and helpful. The location was fantastic as it is right in the middle of Times Square. The room was a good size for the four of us and considering it was NY the room was a comfortable living space. Not a lot of extras. The eighth floor restaurants had okay service and the food was delicious.

Great location on Times Square. Amenities and service were on a par with the average mid-range facilities I have experienced elsewhere. Reserved king bed but got a queen; hair dryer inoperable; wi-fi was marginal. There are much better alternatives nearby.

Everything about the Marriott Marquis is perfect! We stayed there three years ago and weren't so happy, but they have fixed those prior problems and this trip was wonderful. They were VERY busy over the weekend, what with the Heisman Presentation and Christmas, but were able to handle the crowds quite well. Rooms and Restaurants are VERY nice!

Decided to take my daughter for her first NY trip and thanksgiving week. My girlfriend and brother joined us we went with the NYMM because of the size of the room (2 double beds) and it worked out perfectly for us. The room was clean, good size, nice comfortable beds, we got a high floor which is key in NY as the streets are pretty noisy. The hotel has a great buffet, $31, great selection and really good..the hotel has a couple of bars, we went to the broadway bar that overlooks time square..had some wine and apps and we were satisfied. Keep in mind you are in the middle of time square so its busy once you walk out the door, but getting a cab is easy as they have doorman hailing cabs..I will definitely be back..

Excellent location. We went to the Broadhurst Theater. We simply had to walk out the door, cross the street, walk to the next block, turn right and the 2nd theater was the Broadhurst. There were other (45th street) theaters that would have been even closer! Macy's was just a short walk away as was the subway. We had some VERY LOUD and annoying people in the next room. They came in at 1:30 a.m. and it sounded like a party was going on. How can people be so rude? Anyway, we toughed it out and the next morning we asked to have our room changed. No problem at all and no questions asked. The next night I slept like a baby. The room was OK. Nothing really special. I guess you're paying for the location. Don't get me wrong, there was nothing wrong with the room. But for that kind of money I would have expected something a bit more special; a super nice bath, luxury linens, something like that.

This was the 4th time I have stayed at this hotel. This hotel and all it's facilities are excellent. The location is in the heart of Times Square. Rooms are large and well kitted out. They have replaced the old style TVs with plasma TVs, but have these new TVs sat on top of the old cabinets that previously housed the old style TVs. The hotel is a little expensive, but that is because of the location and facilities. One criticism is that they charge for WiFi. I firmly believe WiFi should be complimentary in all hotels. It is an essential part of modern life. Another minor point would be a couple members of staff made me feel a little uncomfortable regarding tipping by repeatedly mentioning that they were doing me a great service by storing my bags, but would not be the person who will present me with my bags when I collect them. May be it's me, but I can't see what they do other than stick a label on your bag and hand it to someone else who puts it in a room.

New York Marriott Marquis is just the best place to stay while in the Big Apple. You are at the center of everything and the amenities are great. My stay was the best experience and I can't wait to visit again.
