Ipanema and Leblon beaches are without a doubt the best places to stay in Rio. Of the hotels comparable to Marina Palace, this is the best price. Rooms could use some upkeep.

All the stuff were extremely helpful and polite. Good location. Most rooms with nice beach view. Even side-view rooms are quite enjoyable. Very good breakfast.

Rooms may ned modernisation. Probaly a bit too expensive for what it offers inside. Great location and superb service.

Excellent location! The view from the rooftop pool was fabulous. The service was top notch with many personnel available to help with anything needed. Very few people in Rio speak English. It was a blessing for us to have the front desk personnel make meal, tour, and transportation arrangements.

I have stayed at 2 hotels during my Rio trip so had the pleasure to compare. The only thing that's worth the premium is their location, facing the beach , in Leblon. Checked in service horrible. Reception acted like they were 5 stars Miami type, but they ain't. Merely a 3 stars in a prime location. We had to wait till 3:30PM to get our room, which was not thoroughly cleaned, and it was not even during their high season. the plus: great roof top Rio size pool and bar, other staffs were friendly and helpful, buffet breakfast was plentiful. The desk staffs at our other 70USD per night hotel were 10 times as friendlier and helpful. Check your bills before leaving, they added 3 gift shop purchases to mine. Not even an apology, and only said,"Oh, it is just our system error." I mean [...!?!] For 200 CAD a night low season, I won't returning.
